The voluntary state-based benchmarks for achievement in math, reading and language arts are unpopular among a segment of conservatives who view them, if incorrectly, as a federally mandated curriculum.
Common Core is indoctrination, hiding behind “standards”. The fine print is exactly what the Communist Party has dreamed of in our schools for years.

In fact, in Social Studies under CC American History which includes the colonial era, Revolutionary War, Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution are taught in 5th grade only! It used to be taught in 11th grade U.S. History. But not under CC. The only exposure to our country's founding American students get will be when they are 10 years old!
