You may be right about Trump. But with respect to the party, attempting to reform the GOP is a fool’s errand. There is a deeply entrenched culture that defends the status quo, long established funding arrangements that engender political cronyism, willful neglect of conservative issues, and a long history of supporting the continued growth and expansion of big government. It doesn’t welcome or like the idea of outsiders coming into its country club and questioning its “traditions”. Trust me: the party is only interested in itself, not you.
As a Catholic, I get a double dose of this when you consider the Commie pope we now have.
I have considered leaving my Church. I have considered leaving my Party. When I look at our current POTUS, I have thought of leaving my country. I live in CA and have often thought of leaving my state. I live in L.A. and have thought of leaving my city.
But I always end up staying put. I never give up. I make the best of what I have. That includes my wife, my family, my house, my job.
Nothing in life is perfect, least of all politics. You have to work with what you have and pray for better days.
