Bill Cosby could be a rapist if the women he seduced were all white. What was the ratio, I ask.
The difference? Cosby told young black men to pull up their pants and get a job.
Honestly, the media -— hell, America -— tried to give Cosby the benefit of the doubt.
I’m not giving Clinton any pass here, or even a free grope. But it isn’t the same in terms of oversaturation of victim stories. The only stories the american public at large heard on mainstream media are
- violent rape of Juanita
- exposure and rude comment to Paula
- placed her hand on his penis - Kathleen
There are many other stories under the radar that speak to unwilling victims of sex assault, including why he got thrown out of Oxford. But the public didn’t know that or hear them from the victims.
It has nothing to do with race.
Wow!
If Cosby goes down, then so should Clinton.
Same initials, same first name, same time frame are coincidence.
Same treatment of women, lack of respect, ignoring personal boundaries.
Different outcome. One could play the victim of a political hit, and retain standing; while the other suffers shame, loses standing, shames his family and supporters.
Let’s close the outcome gap for these predators.
Bill Clinton had a good excuse, he was married to Hillary and getting that, was worse than not getting that.
For liberals, even color is less important than ideology. Clinton is a liberal, Cosby preached conservative values, and that’s why the liberal pack supports Clinton and damns Cosby.
Thank you for your, thoughtful, cogent contribution to this thread.
(If you can thank grundle for something grundle didn’t do, I can do the same for you.)
While I’m at it, thank you for not stealing your homepage from anywhere.
Leftists are waging a microagression against a black man. Where are the Blacklivesmatter people? They need to shame the left about this inequality!
The irony of this is that none of this was acknowledged until Cosby made a series of statements detailing the problems with the black community and suggesting they get their act together.
Yeah I forgot about that. Vince Foster killed himself after he had sex with hitlary.
I agree with you about this. But I think the difference isn't really about the degree of criminality involved -- or how much was revealed in the mainstream -- but in what the lib/progs had to lose. Cosby is not ideologically on the plantation [although he is also not sympathetic to conservative ideas, despite what some here seem to believe], is not an activist, has no real influence, nor has he political power.
Clinton was President at the time of the allegations, and that meant losing the PR battle entailed losing the political conversation in a very big way. In throwing Cosby under the bus they give up nothing at all.
Did Clinton use Quaaludes?

Cigars.
Bill Cosby can’t give them free stuff, or protect them from conservative lawmakers like Bill Clinton did. It’s political; nothing to do with race.
Because Cosby’s black and Clinton’s white.
Ebony and Ivory side by side in perfect harmony.....
Yeah well there's also that Bill Clinton is guilty and Bill Cosby is innocent - AND that Hillary is behind the "sisterhood" mass slander attack on Cosby for leaving the plantation.
Cosby left the plantation long ago giving speeches where he tore into the blacks who gave their children ghetto names, the baby mammas and baby daddys and how they were destroying everything that had been built since Reconstruction.
He scathingly commented that the worst enemy of Black people in the US was Black people in the US, and that until Blacks stopped blaming everyone and anything else and accepted the responsibility for their own problems they were not going to get fixed.
Hoo boy. With heaven knows how many reams of victimhood theses out there and an entire industry built on blaming others, that went over like a lead balloon.
Guilty or innocent, the allegations alone have doubtless cost him millions in lost income from product endorsements and expenses.
