This is the moment a Colorado cop knocked out a woman's teeth while she was handcuffed in a hospital.

Newly released video shows a Colorado Springs police officer grabbing an 18-year-old girl out of her seat and slamming her face-down into the ground during a November 2013 arrest that resulted in her losing two of her front teeth.

The footage was obtained by the Colorado Springs Independent amid an ongoing civil lawsuit being pursued by the teen, Alexis Acker.

No, I’m just saying that the tactic of trying to escalate the animosity has become a very common tactic. Not all LEOs are fully familiar with the concept of never giving anyone control of your emotions. That gives them control of your actions.

Law enforcement is a very trying occupation. Most cops are human, and the perfect cop is rare. Whether you like it or not, cops will continue to be human. I know that there are a lot that suffer from the “short dick syndrome” but you might want to step up if you feel you can do better.

Are you serious?? She was a female and handcuffed. He assaulted her. And his thug buddies, part of the blue wall of silence, didn’t even stop him. He should be kicked off the force together with those other losers there and their supervisors. The militarization of peace officers in this country is chilling and frightening. NOTHING she said justifies the actions of this monster.

From what I see in the video, the other police officers were not within distance to either intervene or escalate the situation.

I saw an officer using unnecessary force to compel a subject in custody to sit down. I saw the subject react with a kick in response. That kick did not present a serious risk of harm to the officer. The kick presented more as a social expression of annoyance or indignation rather than a concerted effort to inflict harm. The officer's subsequent response was disgusting, brutal and unforgivable.

The militarization of peace officers is indeed chilling and frightening, but keep in mind a very important point of consideration.

Militarized police in the United States are not prepared to operate on an even-force basis. All hardened weapon systems have a soft pink center. They have a plan to ride the tiger.

That is not the same as riding the tiger.

Cardinal rule of brutality is if the girl was handcuffed. She was... thus, his reaction is beyond the scope of what is reasonable. I worked Security at a hospital during college and yes.. we had violent M.O.’s, drunks, druggies, etc. The girl could have been secured to a bed easily or put into 4 point restraints easily. I dealt with situations like that on a daily basis. The cop knew that slamming her head first.. and with all his force into the ground would result in her getting injured. He acted not based on the safety of himself or hospital staff but his OWN anger. He used enough force to knock out two young front teeth.. which means that she also suffered a head injury. If I was in the jury... she would get a lot of $. If I was in the police department, he would turn his papers in. No department needs the type of officer that cannot control their own actions and reactions to something as simple as a missed kick from a drunk.

I never commented on the thuggery of the LEO’s. My comment was to the big fat mouth that triggered these animals to beat on her. Teen age girls who bitch, scream and rage against any attempt to admonish them are inciting brutality and need to get a clue.

Yes. I am serious. She needs to get a grip on her attitude. In another context she could have been killed.
Again, get a grip. I said nothing about the cops other than that they behaved brutishly.
Have you ever raised a smart mouthed teen age girl? Cruisin’ for a bruisin’ means something.
By the time the cop’s lawyers are finished with her she will probably explode on the stand. Her belligerence will mitigate damages from a jury, probably down to cost of medical and something for pain and suffering. She will not, however, be considered for a massive judgement.

Yes I raised a mouthy teen aged girl and not one time did I lay a hand on her or brutally slam her face to the floor. I was raised better than that.

I’m sick and tired of these Badge toting eunuchs that are carrying their testicles in their holsters.

I certainly never touch my daughter. She learned quickly, however, that she should not expect such civility from strangers and learned to contain her hostility.
As to the thuggery of cops it is best to take necessary precautions, act with extreme deference and be respectful at all times. It is wise not to antagonize someone with a gun and a license to kill.

Groveling helps also.

It is wise not to antagonize someone with a gun and a license to kill.

Funny, that's what 90 million armed citizens said.

Thanks for your comments. Bumping this story to the top.

IMHO, on the one hand, this type of force seems unwarranted, especially because the person in custody was handcuffed. On the other hand, it’s difficult to tell exactly how well-placed that kick was.

In comparison to other surveillance videos, though, such as the one in the Sandra Bland case, this one looks particularly brutal.

The assault by the alleged officer begins before the “kick.”

On the other hand, it’s difficult to tell exactly how well-placed that kick was.

The person in custody was seated and restrained, and that kick was not presenting a safety to the officer. It's possible that, had the blow landed without the slightest deviation from the maximum testicular point of impact, that there could have been a hematomic result.

But it didn't. The officer did not react in pain. He did, however, react in explosive and violent rage against a young woman who was restrained and under his official protection.

Disgusting, ugly, and grossly unbecoming criminal assault by an officer in uniform.

But at least he didn't shove her down the hall, tell her to start running, and then shoot her several times in the back (and drop a taser next to the twitching carcass after). So maybe I'm a bit overconcerned.

Grovelling does not help. It is precisely the wrong attitude to take with a bully.
I do not understand your reference to 90 million armed citizens.

Agree, I was being sarcastic.

I do not understand your reference to 90 million armed citizens. It was an old nostalgic reference. Today I'd point you to here and simply comment that it's unwise to anger the citizenry of the most heavily armed nation on earth.

90 Million was a Flash video I made nearly fifteen years ago. Rather low-media today, but still a fun adjunct to running a website when I was younger.

These cops are dangerous. Cops need to be peace officers not paramilitary occupiers of a foreign country. The way they behave wouldn’t be tolerated under the military rules engagement. Not only should the thug cop be fired, but also the two idiots who came out of the woodwork and then scrambled away so they could say they didn’t see anything. This is the lowest - beating up a handcuffed high school girl. Love to see hon the punk would handle himself against a real man without that badge and gun.

What happened to this sob? Probably nothing.

It is pretty brutal. People are screaming about an officer arresting a girl in a bikini, after he told her she could leave (but she started mouthing off at him), and that officer was pushed out of his job immediately and even received death threats.

Meanwhile, after slamming a handcuffed teen into the floor, this officer is still on the force.

Both are wrong. The police should meet force with force and stop acting like a militarized occupation force and treating all Americans worse than the army is permitted to treat terrorist savages.

Too often the police act like the teamsters with badges and a gun. NOT ONLY SHOULD THIS THUG BE fired, HE SHOULD Do TIME FOR assault.
