It was a threat. He is telegraphing his rationale for staying in office (i.e., he can’t allow the country to fall into the “wrong hands”). It is abundantly clear that this egomaniacal narcissist has no respect for our laws or Constitution and is quite capable of doing something like this. And from his perspective, why not? There is even more evidence that the pathetic congress and the enabling courts will not stop him.

To me this statement, and the one about being tired of politicians, say a lot. Trump truly gets it. If Obama felt he had to say something it shows he’s even worried - and for somebody who truly sees himself as the Messiah, that’s saying something. No wonder Americans love Trump! Even though there’s a hit of halitosis, he’s a breath of fresh air.
