Oh, yeah. Treasure Street. When I was a child my father owned a corner grocery store on Almonaster Avenue near Treasure Street. It was a decent neighborhood back then.

Oh, yeah. Treasure Street. When I was a child my father owned a corner grocery store on Almonaster Avenue near Treasure Street. It was a decent neighborhood back then.

How long ago was "back then"? I remember this part of the city as a "no-go zone" because of the Desire Housing Projects, part of which survive as the nearby Abundance Square apartments. In the '70s and '80s, the problems caused by that public housing extended well past Almonaster Avenue.
