JERSEY CITY — A thin beam with ornamental spikes, installed on a new planter in the Journal Square plaza, has been removed after criticism that it was only placed there to keep homeless people away.

Councilman-at-large Daniel Rivera told The Jersey Journal the rounded spikes on the planter outside the PATH station, installed by the Journal Square Special Improvement District, created an unsafe condition for residents who might trip and land on the spikes.

Said Brenda Choi...”It’s really sad, we should be trying to shelter the homeless.”

Homelessness is a problem in the US. But I think that it’s worth mentioning that a large number of those who are homeless are because of really bad choices they made - and are continuing to make.

I’d really like to see people like Brenda Choi start taking some of those homeless into her home. She can start feeding and clothing them.

It’s also made worse by various zoning laws that make it difficult to provide inexpensive housing. E.g., lots of cities made it illegal to offer boarding houses or “flop houses”. Lots of towns limit “roommates”. Minimum apartment sizes jack up housing costs.

What is it with women named, ‘Brenda?’

At least here in, ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan’ the truly CRAZY Homeless Advocates allow the drunks and druggies to either live on, or leave their possessions on their porches. Ex-Alderwoman Brenda Konkel does. Here’s a sample of her advocacy:

http://www.forwardlookout.com/2015/07/heads-up-more-ordinances-coming-to-address-the-homeless/23646

They’ve had to turn off electrical outlets and also decorative fountains because the bums and crazies are BATHING IN THEM. Yep. Right on the street, LOL!

Brenda’s not happy about that...oh, not the public nudity by bums...the fact that the city has turned off the water to make them stop, LOL! Oy!

Water is freeeeeeeeee! Land is freeeeeeeeeeeeee! Electricity is freeeeeeeeeeee!

Spikes? Those aren’t spikes.

It’s not a spike problem, it’s a spine problem.
