House vote to defund Planned Parenthood unlikely before recess

The House appears unlikely to vote on defunding Planned Parenthood before the August recess despite mounting pressure on Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio).

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) announced at an anti-abortion rally outside the Capitol on Tuesday that the Senate would vote to defund the group before leaving town for a five-week recess. And with the release of a third undercover video now targeting Planned Parenthood, a House bill to defund the group has reached 140 supporters.

How do SoCons feel about being treated like a battered spouse? The House can't do a vote even if it is defeated to show at least they tried.

It’s a show vote. It is nothing.

Rand Paul is a corrupt little weasel who is in with McConnell. Here’s the proof:

https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2015/04/rand-paul-leads-effort-to-block-senate-fraud-investigation

He’s dead to me.

Like McConnell he makes himself appear conservative when it doesn’t matter, by participating in bills that have no teeth, that go nowhere. If he had filed an amendment or even tried to file one to a must-pass bill, then that’s not a show vote. But he didn’t. He’s playing games and the link above makes it painfully clear he’s a coward.

I think what SoCons lack is a healthy supply of pessimism and cynicism. What they have in droves is normalcy bias and wishful thinking.

Boehner probably has to go to the liquor store, the rest can wait.

I always thought that public money was not permitted to support abortion. How did the sneaky bastards get around that?

Oh, local Fox network explain that one this morning, the somewhere 6 billion that PP gets "doesn't pay for abortions!" It "pays for healthcare, check ups and 'cancer screenings.'"

They used to claim that they did breast cancer screenings until some brave soul pointed out that they didn't have the equipment nor techs to perform mammograms!!! YIKES, someone noticed.

I'd like to see someone go undercover into their sites and claim that they worry about getting cancer, anywhere, and ask for their "free cancer screening tests."

I mean, do they check on moles, lumps, etc.? I don't think they even perform pap smears and send them out to a lab. If we can prove, there are no "cancer screenings" done at any PP location, so much for their claim of "healthcare."

So Cruz was right that this defund of Planned Parenthood should have been attached to the transportation bill. The transportation bill will probably be fast tracked before the Senate recess. And McConnell did lie and this rat face really shi! on Americans that overwhelming showed discuss.

The good news is Paul is on a downward trend in Presidential polls.

Voters are seeing this fraud for what he is.

The Republicrats, led by Boehner, don’t have the coconuts to defund PP. They’re terrified of being called meanies.
