Homosexual marriages are self-limiting. There are not the numbers of a)active homosexuals that are b)monogamous and c)wanting to be permanently hitched together. Also, marriage should be the province of individuals and states rather than the federal government, and it is only the social engineering of tax laws that makes that makes such marriages desirable.
Secondly, on the subject of cheap labor and flat taxes that starve social programs: without the social programs, we wouldn't need illegal immigrants to provide cheap labor. We would have lots of that already. Unemployment caused by high availability of social compensation is caused by progressive politics, and immigration is the only progressive alternative to eliminating or decreasing the incidence of entitlement payouts.
The mirages may be self-limiting, but societal, and more importantly, judicial approval has just given them the legal standing to have the sodomite agenda taught to children in the government indoctrination centers known as public schools, among other things. It has given them legal standing to have their propaganda propounded to other people’s children, against the will and wishes of their own parents, because this ruling by the SC changes it from “just another lifestyle choice” to a relationship of legal and recognised standing in the community.
First of all you underestimate the power of homosexual sex education and cultural “inclusion”.
Second of all, flat taxes on the state level have already failed. They just drive up taxes on the local level and bankrupt the working poor (who end up paying for all the illegals) while destroying the schools with all the English as a second language students bombing out on state testing standards. Renters in section 8 don’t tend to stay with just one family per house.
Libertarian theory is no match for reality, my friend. The fact is that good governance is an exercise in pragmatism. Conservatives are pragmatists, because they stick to things that have a proven track record. Conservatives are not idealists who try to bend reality to their pet theory!
