It made it there because, like "fracking", it sounds almost like a swearword and can be used as a pejorative if the tone is right.

Incidentally, the first example they used is Trump. I guess they needed something that sounded bad to use against him.

You read it wrong. Trump is mentioned as contrary to the cuckservative majority of GOP leaders.
