Do you only care because this lion was famous?

I think anyone who would pay $55,000 to kill a single animal is a psychopath.

So if they would have let him kill a hundred, you'd be okay with it?

He paid $55K for a rare and elaborate trophy.

People pay millions for baseball cards, paintings, cars they will never drive, etc.

What's particularly silly about this is that he paid to steal something.

“I think anyone who would pay $55,000 to kill a single animal is a psychopath.”

I agree on this one. We hunt (bear, racoon, rabbit, deer, elk, mountain lion, pronghorn sheep) and fish for our own use and to sell the fur (raccoon, rabbit) but I’ll never understand killing endangered animals and big game in Africa, etc. We also raise a steer each year for meat, and will be raising hogs and I’ll have chickens again in the near future for eggs and roasting.

To me, THOSE jungle/desert animals are works of ART and should be left alone.

But, I guess to someone that has a pet rabbit, I’M the barbarian, LOL!

I dunno. It’s all in your perspective, I guess.

And I think people that think that are psychopaths.

fortunately neither meet the definition.

He has money, he was using it for something legal. Those fees help support the habitat in that area, which keeps other lions alive and healthy. The average lifespan of a lion is about 14 years. So Cecil was not long for this world anyway.
