As the first Republican debate for the primary season is quickly approaching, Rasmussen Reports says that businessman Donald Trump, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are guaranteed seats on the A-stage on Aug. 6.
Rasmussen's first national survey of likely Republican voters shows that Trump is ahead with 26 percent support, while Walker is in second with 14 percent and Bush has 10 percent of the vote making them the top three leaders.
While there are 13 remaining major Republican candidates, Fox News is only opening the Aug. 6 debate to the top 10 as determined by the best numbers in leading polls.
Rasmussen Reports says the rest of the A-stage debate field is "a lot murkier," but six candidates stand out:
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, both with 7 percent;Then comes the pack:Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson and Ohio Gov. John Kasich with 5 percent each;
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul at 3 percent.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal all have 2 percent support among likely GOP voters;Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former New York Gov. George Pataki each pick up 1 percent of the Republican vote.

I’m not for Bush at all. I was just talking. You make some very good points.
Me too....she has a lot of clarity. I have donated to her and Cruz...but I can't help but like Trump. I am so sick of these studied, strident professional politicians who do what they have to do for the party to be promoted. It's all a charade and the joke has been on We The People for far too long. And look what they've done to us! Infested us with dangerous illegals, 20 trillion in debt, now we're facilitating another Hitler, stuck us with health care they control but won't participate in themselves.... The shocking thing is that we've taken this from them for so long.
Please tell us why they "deserve" it.
Oops. I know a thespian lesbian. She plays at the Bush lands theater. Ella megusta arbusto.
Odd that...
5.56mm
Sheesh.
5.56mm
I’m sorry. I tried to make it pretty obvious I realized that.
I wasn’t under that impression and I’m sorry I didn’t make that more clear.
I don’t really hold to the spoiler theory. It is important that we respect the process as a constitutional republic. There is no such thing as a spoiler. If a candidate is not strong enough to win regardless of who or how many are competing against him, well then it is an honest loss. The people have spoken. The absolute WORST thing we can do is to destroy our representative government with well meaning strategy plans of pushing out the “spoilers.” That leads to self-assigned power brokers grabbing unfair advantage by manipulating the public with emotion. What we need is lots and lots and lots of interviews with all of the candidates and good, solid, substantive debates. Then if we end up with a bum it will be the bum we deserve. At least it will be honest. If you protect the process then no bum is permanent. If you do not, then eventually YOU have no say. We will not only always have a bum, we will always have either a tyrant or a puppet.
No problem. You’re such a nice person to have a conversation with. I thank you for that.
Because they are decent, articulate candidates that are a far cry better than some ahead of them. I’m not saying they are my top pick.
I’ve already got the TIVO programmed. There are TWO programs, one at 5PM CDT, and the long one at about 7PM.
Why do we have to soil ourselves with the likes of Garfield-girth-Christie; Brat-Santorum; has-been Huckabee; Perry-I-challenge Trump-to-a-pull-up-Contest. My present governor Piyush ‘Bobby’ Jindal, has spent as much time traveling in his term as ‘the galloping gadfly’ used to have fly-fishing shows on Saturdays, or that guy on River monsters.
That was more than I deserved. I’m not always an easy guy to talk with. I recognize that.
The credit goes to you.
“Santorum and Fiorina deserve to be doing better”
Please tell us why they “deserve” it

Santourm? No. Fiorina? Hell yes! The lady is tough. She’s the only one going after Hillary with a vengeance instead of attacking the other GOP candidates. She would make a great VP choice. She speaks with clarity and class while kickin’ Clinton’s ass. (No rhyme intended at the time of typing.)
Jeb at 10% = ROFLOLOL.
I know, what a joke! And he has 99.999% name recognition.
Jeb has already peaked, but they still keep calling him the frontrunner.
I’m betting Cruz wins the debates. Trump just has to show up to put on a show. The others are turning out to be midgets.
Well I guess speaking Spanish to illegals just isn’t getting Jebbie the traction in the polls he was looking for. LOL!
Walker fading as I predicted. He is boring the base to death.
Like Trump trumpets, the last thing we need is ANOTHER Bush in the White House.
I hope Cruz is given the opportunity to really shine!
I also hope Jeb speaks Spanish, so he can drop even more!
No way.
If Hillary remains basically unopposed for the D nomination, the Dems will do a huge Op Chaos and elect Bush for the R nomination.
Maybe Rasmussen Reports can run their own debate and FOXNews can tell them how it should be done...
