Perfect opportunity for a local mom and pop metal shop to begin turning out LA Special 9 round mags.

Sure won’t, but it will create a nice, profitable black market for high capacity magazines in California,

Ten round are no different than nine round or any other round. The marxists have a long established M O attacking things in increments. They'll take one bullet away at a time until we only have one left. Then they will slowly take the gun power out of the bullet, one grain at a time.

I'm no lawyer (I'm moral) but what is there about “ex post facto” bans that CA/LA can't wrap their dinky little minds around?

This is terribly written. Does this law supercede state law granfathering in high capacity magazines purchased before 1992, or what? I am confused.

Let’s see how many fools turn in their magazines. You know the criminals won’t.

The state of California already has a silly unconstitutional “law” like this in case anyone wishes to obey it. Why city councilmen or legislators waste their time on nonsensical, unenforceable, and patently illegal rules is anyone’s guess. Like, it’s not like LA is free of any real problems for them to work at. A BS award to the city of angels.

Yes it is badly written and almost unenforceable. Yes you are grandfathered in with previously owned hi-caps but since Cali reworked their penal codes previously owned high-caps are able to be confiscated as a “Nuisance item” depending on the LEO’s discretion

“One of these is the urban clusters who have embraced Progressivism and who have contrived a fantasy world within they choose to live.”

Actually NOT good news at all. Only takes about TEN of the largest urban clusters to elect ‘Rat Presidents in perpetuity. What we need to do is reform the Electoral College and eliminate “winner take all” allocation of votes.

When lawful gun owners no longer have 10-shot mags, only the criminals will.

Crime rates to shoot (pardon the expression) through the ceiling if passed. Criminals sending contributions to the LA City Council members in thanks for this stupid vote.

Los Angeles has no such authority. They are preempted by State law in this instance.

California and many other states have knife laws that differ by City/County.

How would that 10+ mag ban be any different?

OTOH, SF tried enacting some gun laws that were stricter than State laws but the court overruled them.

Confused as to what local laws can be enforced over State laws and why local laws regarding knives supersede State laws.

http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USKnife.pdf

10+ mags are already banned, but this law now makes it illegal to own any pre-bans.

I’m in California, but in Northern California and I will never turn over my pre-bans.

They don’t know I have them and they never will.
Unless, as mentioned above, I have to use them and not at the pistol range.

I assume Hollywood was exempted, but then their guns rarely seem to run out of ammo anyway.

Myself, I prefer the popular 1 round magazines. When Magpul comes out with a 1/2 round magazine, that will be my next favorite. Of course, the Holy Grail will be the 0 round magazine, which should sell like hot cakes in California until the -1 magazine debuts. The ‘-1’ magazine will also be a big contributor to the reduction of the cost of ammunition and terrorists will be unable to inflict much less damage.
