Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another *; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
It is not surprising that the death of a lion in Africa would cause such outrage in America. A nation that rejects the true and living God, must worship something. We were made to worship! In this case, we have traded Jesus Christ for a lion. Why not? Lions, spotted owls, trees, plants, streams, and all the rest of creation are easy to love! Creation is convenient, makes no moral demands, and we do not have to live with creation each morning or change its diapers.
It is also not surprising that we would make homosexuality the law of the land. Why not? A nation that will kill its own babies naturally would promote and champion the unnatural and demonic affections of mentally disturbed people, regardless of the utter damage it will cause to them and the children they defile through adoption and pedophilia.
God's Word said it would be like this. He warned us that the last days would would be perilous like the days of Sodom and Noah. Brace yourselves, for these same people outraged by a man lawfully hunting for lions in Africa, will express their outrage at those who expose their hypocrisy and lack of outrage over baby harvesting, dismemberment, and parts sale...
Proverbs 29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

The only problem with this is that the man’s $50K no doubt went to the wretched marxist thug Mugabe regime or his cronies.
Otherwise, I am at the point now where the “outrage” is just annoying and stupid.

Clever title.
But the gist of your message is right - this Nation (or at least the Media and Government that are leading this Nation. And the Educrats that are brainwashing the next generation) is off the tracks.
Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all of the Nations that forget God.

“we have traded Jesus Christ for a lion.”
The lion as an image of Christ came first.
Maybe we can show people, that their concern for the lion came because of the True Lion’s concern for them and for the unborn.
Show them the Lion and the Lamb, show them Aslan, etc. Proudly.
They made this lion an icon. Imagery is more powerful than words, and the image of the noble lion has already been given meaning by Christ. Maybe they even half way sort of see that?? Or can? Praying.

Not to mention the “lyin king” in the white house.
Sorry, I just had to go there.

The media and Hollywood idiots can be sanctimonious, but I think they went to extremes even for them, on this Cecil the lion story.

Dead lions matter. Dissected babies don’t.

I find it educational to be reminded that underneath those oh so polite exteriors beat the hearts of vicious loons. Do the “wrong” thing and these barely restrained psychopaths go nuts.

Are the people really that stupid, crassly ignorant and self-absorbed that they care more about a lion than millions of babies?
Or do the people know only what they see on TV or read in their local rags? Would they start to care about the babies if they knew what is going on?
I hope it’s the second option.

Someone needs to check out a truly evil “editorial” being run in The London Telegraph about this story condemning all Americans because this poor guy got his tit caught in a wringer. The hatred expressed towards our country was almost as astonishing as the level of stupidity.

Very beautifully put,AMDG. I don’t know why so many are so afraid to even provisionally join forces emotionally with PETA or Hollywood on this one issue. Walter Palmer’s murder for sport of an innocent and beautiful “beast” is all of a piece with Planned Parenthood’s murder for profit of the innocent baby AND the sale of body parts (getting paid on both ends, as it were)In the White “Hunter”’s case, there was profit involved too-—someone made 50,000 bucks out of it. This is not an “either/or” situation, but all sides have their own agendas to push, don’t they? No one can see that the culture of death makes both abortion for profit and social thinning-of-the-herd and the murder of Cecil the Lion inevitable , and predictable. Let’s not throw out the Lion with the bathwater. And DON’T forget these particular details of Cecil’s murder: Palmer was unsuccessful at killing him with a bow and arrow, so the lion stumbled around for nearly two days, wounded, and they finally found him, and finished him off with a GUN. THEN, they SKINNED HIM AND BEHEADED HIM, just like the ISIS barbarians have been doing to other innocents for MONTHS. Another beheading. Subliminally I wouldn’t be surprised to find out this pushed a lot of people over the edge, who can’t allow themselves to wrestle with the horrors of ISIS. Cecil then becomes a symbolic stand-in for all the current horrors of our vexing and profoundly sad world,

I see your point and like the Revelation 5/Genesis 49 typology.
However, I think the reason they are overly concerned for the Lion (which many Africans look at as dinner) is because they have left off the natural affection of God and babies.

Do you feel the same way about the murder of “innocent cows” to make your hamburger? How about the murder of “innocent fish” minding their own business and swimming with their loved ones when a cruel net pulls them from the sea to be devoured?

However, Lions are food for many Africans. They are legally grown and hunted not only for trophies, but also for food. When a lion is killed in Africa, a village eats. This goes along with what Jesus told Peter in Acts...
Acts 10: 9 On the morrow, as they went on their journey , and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: 10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten : but while they made ready , he fell into a trance, 11 And saw heaven opened , and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: 12 Wherein * were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. 13 And there came a voice to him, Rise , Peter; kill , and eat. 14 But Peter said , Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed , that call not thou common.
