Speaking of the Moon:
The night after the last moon eclipse a female friend of Mrs. Spel dropped by the house to shoot the breeze.
After a night of chatter with Mrs. Spel we walked her out to her car. She looked up and said, “Oh, look at how bright and clean the Moon is tonight! It was dirty but that eclipse last night wiped it clean!”
I started to laugh but Mrs. Spel gave to me that “look” so that I stopped the laughter. As the lady drove away Mrs. Spel said to me, “Do not laugh when she says things like that. She really believes that the Earth came into contact with the surface of the Moon and cleaned it.”
