Post Your Favorite Saturday Night Youtube Songs
Youtube ^ | Steve Earle

Posted on 08/01/2015 8:47:25 PM PDT by Sawdring

Sometimes I enjoy playing a couple of my favorite songs on Youtube and end up seeing where the sidebar takes me. I started with The Highwayman and now I'm listening to Steve Earl's Copper Head Road.

Next up is John Prine and Steve Goodman's Souvenirs

If you care to post your favorites, other Freepers might just enjoy the jukebox tonight.

I’m a life-long Oriole fan, but I love Steve Goodman, may he rest in peace...completely underrated, he was a wonderful singer-songwriter...

And if you’re a baseball fan, you’ll appreciate this one...

One of his best, featured in the movie “The Pope of Grenwich Village.” Arranged by the inimitable and immortal Nelson Riddle. Nelson, I hope to see you in heaven.

It’s getting late have you seen my mates
Ma tell me when the boys get here
It’s seven o’clock and I want to rock
Want to get a belly full of beer

My old man’s drunker than a barrel full of monkeys
And my old lady she don’t care
My sister looks cute in her braces and boots
A handful of grease in her hair

Don’t give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Saturday night’s alright for fighting
Get a little action in

Get about as oiled as a diesel train
Gonna set this dance alight
‘Cause Saturday night’s the night I like
Saturday night’s alright, alright, alright

Well they’re packed pretty tight in here tonight
I’m looking for a dolly who’ll see me right
I may use a little muscle to get what I need
I may sink a little drink and shout out “She’s with me!”

A couple of the sound that I really like
Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike
I’m a juvenile product of the working class
Whose best friend floats in the bottom of a glass

Don’t give us none of your aggravation
We had it with your discipline
Saturday night’s alright for fighting
Get a little action in

Music is subjective, so no one can really object to anything posted as everyone’s taste is different. As for me, there is so much I love from classical to swing to jazz to rock, to blues, to gospel, to Christian to .....never mind.

This is her best song. Hate the video with that idiot with the hammer and scikel earring. Great voice but she never saw her potential.

A couple from the early 80s tonight:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=netMRfWRTTY (You Ain’t Worth) The Salt in my Tears - Martin Briley. Kind of an obscure hit, but a good little breakup song, IMHO. Love the big tall blonde, too!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU0YDx_KTpA Change - John Waite. I was a huge fan of John Waite (with and without The Babys) as a kid. And this one has the bonus of clips from one of my favorite 80’s guilty pleasure movies - Visionquest. (Shute’s a monster!)
