Jeb Bush is spending hours in sessions from Florida to Maine preparing policy answers for Thursday’s first Republican debate — but he is also being mindful to avert any display of disdain for the man he will stand beside, Donald J. Trump, who has infuriated Mr. Bush by criticizing Mexican immigrants. (Mr. Bush is married to one.)

Oh, is Jeb's wife an illegal? Must be because otherwise this would be a lie.

The NYT has again conflated “Mexican” with “illegal”. The fact is, MANY perfectly legal immigrants have been admitted from Mexico, AFTER they have gone through all the legal requirements and paid the necessary fees, and once here, have become exemplary citizens upon naturalization.

But there are actually several different classes of “immigrants” in the territory once known as “the United States of America”. The most desirable of these, the motivated and successful person in his or her own country, that WANTS to be here, and will strive mightily to add to the lustre and polish they already admire and wish to emulate. Then there is the person, relatively unsuccessful in the home country, and wishes to emigrate to escape limitations that cannot be overcome in the land of their nativity, but they too, come with an ambition to succeed and see a pathway here. Occasionally, for purposes of business or tourism, persons from another country, in perfectly good standing in their home country, will apply for and obtain a temporary permission to enter the country. Another category are persons actively being persecuted in their home country, and are fleeing, sometimes in fear for their very lives, as they have forfeited all property in the venue from which they have fled. These people do not go through any formal application process, and in fact, the sort of documentation that may be requested of them may simply be beyond their means to acquire or produce. These people are admitted for purposes of asylum, and not necessarily on any track, ever, to become citizens. These people are not “illegal”, but have been granted privilege to enter and stay for a period of time, with the expectation that when things do clear up in their land of origin, they may then return.

Then there is another category, who either will not or cannot obtain necessary documentation to cross the border, and in fact, may have mischief in mind they plan on exercising while in country. They are not, nor should they ever be considered as being in the same category as refugees who have a genuine reason to be flee the country of origin. They are, in a word, house-breakers and squatters, with no legal or moral justification for being here. And they exist ENTIRELY because nobody is watching the entry points, nor are they actively tracking the movements of those already here after entry, but without long-term authority to be here.

I thought worse, when I read that article. Jeb's wife is an illegal alien criminal who steals, rapes and murders others.

After all, that is what Trump was talking about, the illegal alien criminals!
