'Gay marriage' all about attacking Christianity, says author [Proverbs 4]

Aaron and Melissa Klein of Gresham, Oregon, have learned how dangerous it can be to fail to support “gay marriage” in this day and age. The now-infamous bakers refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple and were subsequently slapped with a $135,000 fine from the state of Oregon. Negative national publicity forced them to shut down their bakery, Sweet Cakes by Melissa.

Outrage from progressives has essentially ruined the Kleins’ lives, but journalist and author Jack Cashill, who wrote the forthcoming “Scarlet Letters: The Ever-Increasing Intolerance of the Cult of Liberalism,” believes this incident ultimately is not about “gay marriage.” Rather, it is part of an attempt by hardcore progressives to destroy Christianity and the nuclear family.

“If they were serious about gay rights, they would take this battle to not only the Islamic countries, but to the Islamic mosques in the United States,” Cashill told WND in an interview. “[Muslims] are not even questioned. They’re not in the picture. It’s really an attack on Judeo-Christian values.”

“In Portland, Oregon, they just want more blood,” he said. “I mean, they’re just like sharks. Unless they continue moving forward, they die, and when they smell blood, they’re going after it.”

“Christians will have some constraints by the nature of Christianity, but at some point, you can get into John Brown territory, where you have a Bible in one arm and a musket in the other...” Cashill cautioned.

Jesus said that one of the sure signs of His return would be legislated homosexuality, like the days of Sodom. The Word of God pulls the facade off the PC face of homosexuality. In 1 Cor 6:9, Homosexuals are called "offenders". In Genesis 19 & Judges 19 it shows the predatory nature of the activity. Leviticus calls Homosexuality an abomination to God. Indeed, even statistics expose that homosexuality is not about monogamy and relationship, for the average number of partners homosexuals females have is in the hundreds, and for men, the thousands!

Historically, the true nature of Sodomy is aggressive, militant, and predatory. Now that their delusion is mainstream, they are aggressively coming out. In the late 1970s, Sodomites were struck with AIDS (formerly Gay Man's Plague). Yet even with the specter of this dreaded disease, it has not stopped their behavior. They continue to reach for the doors of our schools, our businesses, our legal institutions, and our churches.

Hear the words of Jack Cashill's warning. Pray that God will raise up men and women to faithfully stand against this abomination and protect our children until the day Jesus Christ returns in Glory to judge the quick and the dead...

A dispute that began in 2013 when the ‘Sweet Cakes by Melissa’ bakery in Gresham, Oregon, refused to provide a wedding cake to a same-sex couple has come to an end after the state’s Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) ruled that owners Melissa and Aaron Klein must pay damages totaling $135,000 to complainants Laurel and Rachel Bowman-Cryer. A 2 July 2015 ruling [PDF] issued by the BOLI described the $135,000 as “damages, not fines or civil penalties”:

Under Oregon law, businesses cannot discriminate or refuse service based on sexual orientation, just as they cannot turn customers away because of race, sex, disability, age or religion.

The Oregon Equality Act of 2007 includes an exemption for religious organizations and schools, but does not allow private business owners to deny service and unlawfully discriminate against potential customers.

The BOLI press release reiterated that the damages awarded were neither punitive nor unusual for such claims:

The BOLI Final Order awards $60,000 in damages to Laurel Bowman-Cryer and $75,000 in damages to Rachel Bowman-Cryer for emotional suffering stemming directly from unlawful discrimination. The amounts are damages related to the harm suffered by the Complainants, not fines or civil penalties which are punitive in nature.

The Final Order notes that the non-economic damages are consistent with the agency’s previous orders, such as an earlier ruling against a Bend dentist In the Matter of Andrew W. Engle. In that case, BOLI awarded a Christian employee $325,000 in damages for physical, mental and emotion suffering due to religious discrimination and harassment.

After the press release was distributed, Melissa Klein published a Facebook status update reacting to the ruling and its provisions:

The final ruling has been made today. We have been charged with $135,000 in emotional damages, But also now Aaron has been charged with advertising. (Basically talking about not wanting to participate in a same-sex wedding) This effectively strips us of all our first amendment rights. According to the state of Oregon we neither have freedom of religion or freedom of speech. We will NOT give up this fight, and we will NOT be silenced. We stand for God’s truth, God’s word and freedom for ALL americans. We are here to obey God not man, and we will not conform to this world. If we were to lose everything it would be totally worth it for our Lord who gave his one and only son, Jesus, for us! God will win this fight!

In the ruling, Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian explicitly stated that Oregon laws prohibit refusal of service to protected classes for discriminatory reasons:

This case is not about a wedding cake or a marriage. It is about a business’s refusal to serve someone because of their sexual orientation. Under Oregon law, that is illegal.

Within Oregon’s public accommodations law is the basic principle of human decency that every person, regardless of their sexual orientation, has the freedom to fully participate in society. The ability to enter public places, to shop, to dine, to move about unfettered by bigotry.

The lengthy ruling described incidents wherein the Kleins’ promotion of their plight resulted in negative attention and threats to the Bowman-Cryers, including Klein’s publication of court documents to Facebook that included the couple’s home address. Contrary to many descriptions of the issue, no “gag order” was put in place that prohibits the Kleins from publicizing or talking about their case; however, the Kleins have been ordered to cease proclaiming or offering any public suggestion that they intended to refuse service to same-sex couples in the future

Good question! Two places are key...

Isaiah 24:5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

God's ordinances to Adam & Eve in Genesis 1-2 were that a man and woman would leave their parents and the 2 would become 1 flesh (Marriage) and have children (multiply).

After the flood in Genesis 9, God gave a couple more ordinances and then told Noah's family to the same thing he told Adam. He made an everlasting covenant with them based on the ordinances. Clearly America, by legislating the sins of Abortion, Homosexuality, and pederasty (homosexual adoption), is breaking the God's ordinances, laws of God (10 commandments), and his everlasting covenant.

Additionally, the Lord did not let Abraham and the children of Israel take the promise land until the sins of the Amorites were full. Genesis 15:16 "But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." What this means is that there was sin among the Canaanites, but the sin was not "legislated". God was patient with them working for their repentance. However, once their sin was codified or legislated (e.g. abortion, homosexuality, pederasty, etc.), their judgment was imminent.

Pray that God remembers mercy in his judgment on America...

Christians need to take part of the blame for the government-related attacks on their faith imo.

More specifically, to the best of my knowledge, some Christians will argue that Jesus' teaching of Matthew 22:18-22, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, ..." means that Christians aren’t supposed to get involved in government affairs. This is evidenced by so many “flag, motherhood, and apple pie" patriots who have evidently never been taught about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers as they should have been.

On the other hand, Acts 22:25-19 shows that Paul sure as heck used his Roman citizenship protections to prevent himself from getting flogged by Roman soldiers.

Regarding Christian business owners who have been harassed and penalized by the state for refusing to provide certain services for gay marriages, I don’t see Christians likewise claiming Section 1 of the 14th Amendment which was written in part to specifically protect the abridgment of constitutionally enumerated protections, 1st Amendment religious freedom of religious expression in these cases, from state action.

14th Amendment, Section 1: All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States [emphasis added]; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Since the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay agenda issues like gay “marriage,” the states that are using constitutionally unprotected pro-gay policies to trump the constitutionally enumerated protection of religious expression have violated Section 1 of the 14th Amendment imo.

Again, since some (many?) Christians evidently don’t know their constitutional protections well enough, possibly as a consequence of the way some Christians are strictly interpreting church and state-related passages in the Bible, Christians are getting walked on by the states.
