Stop repeated what liberal whackos are saying. There is a place for that, DU. This is FreeRepublic, and place for red-blooeded Americans, not panty-wasted NatGeo watchers.

African lions are not endangered. Africa is more wild and lawless than you can even imagine. Zimbabwe’s “laws” change by the whim of anyone with a government paycheck.

So countries do not have a right to make their own laws? Is that your position?

I’m not sure if they are endangered or not, but saw one article say the population in Africa of lions has gone down 75% in the last fifty years. The primary reason is loss of habitat due to increased human population and changes in land use.

And I don’t know about lions, but with Rhinos, a lot of poaching goes on. In one country they lose over 2 rhinos a day to poaching. They allow legal hunts of 4 or 6 rhinos each year.

Not all conservatives support hunting for trophy or sport. What we do agree with is our second amendment rights to own guns to protect ourselves as a Constitutional right. I grant you my personal view is not a majority here, but you do your second amendment cause no favors by saying people with my views toward trophy hunting can’t be conservative.
