Citizenship or not, that is amnesty. For many, the principal issue is that 30m illegals (on top of 30m legal immigrants) are holding down wages. Note that birthright citizenship means that illegals who enter under work permits rather than green cards (i.e. path to citizenship) can have anchor babies (US citizen children) born stateside.

Trump said Wednesday in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash that as president he would deport all undocumented immigrants and then allow the “good ones” to reenter the country through an “expedited process” and live in the U.S. legally, though not as citizens.

“Legal status,” Trump suggested. “We got to move ‘em out, we’re going to move ‘em back in if they’re really good people.”

Put a GOPE candidate in the White House the immigration situation won’t change and may get worse. There’s only two I have any confidence who would considerably tightening immigration.
