The nation's Big Three networks have lavished news coverage on flamboyant Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, one of the latest to get into the race, according to a review of nightly broadcasts dating to January 1.

The conservative media watchdog, the Media Research Center, found that Trump has received about 10 times the average amount of airtime given to the other 16 candidates combined, with the last one to get in, former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore, still waiting for his first second of coverage.

What if he doesn’t end up as the Republican candidate? What if he goes 3rd party? Will you vote for him?

But theyz talks reelz good with that same old same old.

I’m sure Cruz doesn’t - he’s the one guy to call out Mitch McConnell.

I think I was honest about how I felt.

Trump can go ahead and keep beating up Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz, who I support, has been supportive of Trump in the face of GOPe attacks.

I just think some folks out there have put Trump up high on a pedestal when he’s not perfect, nobody is.

I will not argue, but I think some folks are so worked up they can’t see the whole picture when they rush to support Trump.

I think the political system is a mess and controlled by corporatist elite forces. We apparently need to go beyond it with a third party and or civil disobedience to change things.

Rushing to support Donald Trump comes off to me as rushing to some magic finger snap solution to a big mess.

“The MSM is all in for Trump cuz they believe, and maybe their right, that Hillary can beat him.”

I didn’t see that angle before but right now her ratings sucks. But that won;t stop the lib media next year...

Are you saying that, unless Trump is the Republican candidate, you won’t vote Republican? All the others are tools of the establishment?

Will you vote for him if he goes 3rd party?

That would be a "qualified" yes.

Aside from Trump, unless the Republicans nominate Cruz, I'll be staying home. He has shown real conservative predisposition. Unfortunately, he has also shown an inability to overcome the Washington/Media "establishment" that has kept us from even getting close since Reagan.

And of course, an actual Cruz nomination would be a "catch-22" and defeat the entire reason for the meager attention the media is giving him to offset Trump.

They would much prefer ANY of the others.

I would vote for Trump as a Third party candidate ONLY if Cruz is not the Republican.

Yes I single out Cruz as one of the good guys. And even though he has no chance to win Rand Paul is also a sincere person. IMO.

I just think some folks out there have put Trump up high on a pedestal when he’s not perfect, nobody is.

And you think no one besides you knows that?

Let me ask you a question I ask often around here. If you were wrong, what evidence could someone bring that would convince you of it?

I always ask this because unless you've fleshed out the opinion you hold enough to know what facts would prove it wrong, you won't recognize those facts even if someone smarter than you gives you the evidence that proves it.

I will not argue, but I think some folks are so worked up they can’t see the whole picture when they rush to support Trump.

Then why are you here?

When you put your opinions into the arena of ideas, "not arguing," for them here is intellectual fraud.

FReepers come here to sharpen conservative ideas and opinions, not give place to "prophets" who expect their opinions to be treated like Moses coming down off the Mountain.

I;ve said it multiple times, that buyer beware and we could all look like chumps. They’re all in cahoots together and even NBC polls have him on top. ] Seriously, it looks like a trap...

To "trap" us in "what?" Seriously, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and swims like a duck, you need to have REALLY good reasons to deny "it's a duck!"

I think I was honest about how I felt.

BTW...I never questioned the honesty of "how you felt." I'm questioning the validity of "why" you feel it.

Cruz is looking very good right now actually. His poll numbers have started going up nicely, he has raised more hard money than anyone else on the GOP side, plus raised his money from 15 times as many people as Jeb Bush. Not to mention being the best debater by some distance in the the GOP field. This is a marathon not a sprint. We have 6 months to go till the first primaries. There will be plenty of twists and turns before the eventual GOP candidate emerges.

Left, right or center.... if someone had only time to read one article about a presidential candidate, and could choose between 300 words on Biden, Hillary, Cruz, Rubio, Jeb or Trump.... which one is going to have at least one statement that is either “I Can’t believe he said something so outrageous” and/or “My God, somebody said the emperor has no clothes”....

Two things matter in American politics - money and entertainment value. Trump has more than everybody running in both parties put together.

I think we have to be careful not to see Trump as “Moses coming down off the mountain”.

As someone who wants literally balanced budgets and less government, a dismantling of the welfare state and a respect for our Constitutional rights (1st, 2nd and 4th Amendments among others) I see a lot lacking in the speechmaking of almost all candidates, including Trump.

Not just the big three. Fox's Megyn Kelly had Scott Walker on her show tonight, and proceeded to ask him four questions. Three of them were about Trump.

I think the MSM looks at Trumps negatives in the polls and THAT is why they want him as the Republican candidate. If Trump can drive down his negatives, watch the MSM clam up.

If most of the coverage wasn't designed to make him suspect to the Conservative crowd, you might be right - as it is, a lot of the coverage is designed to create disdain for his best qualities.

That said....GO CRUZ!!!
