The thing that is strong in favor of Trump being successful in this race is that for a great many of those who don't have him as their first choice would be happy to have him as their second choice. Someone like me, for example, who prefers Cruz would accept Trump if Cruz doesn't get the numbers. People who like Walker or Carson or Carly or Paul might feel the same way. Only the Bushies dislike Trump, because he upsets their little fiefdom that is known as the RNC.

Speaking of which, If Trump or Cruz gets the nomination, priority number 1 is to remove every single slug from the RNC. They are all Bush/Rove plants. It needs to be taken over and remade. Leave some of them in, and you will have sabotage during the general election, and then they will take it over again once the election is over.

Indeed he was, and some say that’s the reason 0 won so handily in 2008. 0 created a more robust campaign infrastructure to fight off OpChaos interference, and then he used it in the general campaign.

Cruz is my guy but, honestly, these polls 15 months before an election are like calling a horse race 10 feet out of the starting gate.

Who in the world are the people backing Carson? He is totally out of his league in running for president. (Not that he is alone in that regard.)

Once the unqualified (Carson) and supporters of Democrats (Our Churchill) are gone, there’s plenty of room for a conservative (Cruz).

Not sure, but I was getting a ton of mailers/packets for Carson from someone named John Souza ??

Seems to have finally let up.

I listened to him at the debate yesterday. He was smoking on fire with his health care idea...

However, his tax/economic policy was a bit iffy. I am not sure he is ready for the prime time yet.

Carson is strong here in TN though...

Do you think that the dems have their people registered as Republicans in order to change the results of our primary to suit their politics, as in a win/win outcome for them?

My husband, a libertarian/ conservative in protest against the Republican leadership, (and he tells me to tear up my Republican voter card all the time) is registered independent n ow, so he can’t help get Cruz into the top spot.

Hmm, maybe I can convince him to change it back so we can have the only able and true conservative to vote for in the general.

We have to think steps ahead like they do. The left always seems to have plans in drawers waiting, scenarios already laid out, and people and organizations in place to activate them.

Same could be said about Trump...

Look at the internals of the SC poll released yesterday...

“Cruz is my guy but, honestly, these polls 15 months before an election are like calling a horse race 10 feet out of the starting gate.”

That is just so much better than my own analogy comparing the excitement over Trump as political premature ejaculation by so many.

I am happy to let it play out, may our side pick the best candidate.

We vet our candidates, stop letting the media hype guide us. The media is not our friend.

Nobody incorporates strategy to set up separate specific issue policy's points quite like Ted Cruz.

It is a damn shame that so many use emotional responses formed from mere salepitches to guide their hearts instead of their minds.

Hearts and minds need to be united.

Ted Cruz 2016.

While Trump yells forward, Cruz claws in the mud filled trenches nearly solo against all odds.
Cruz is the finest patriot in the race.

I’m not surprised - many who appreciate Trump’s brashness against the Left are just as excited about having Cruz as President - I am one who backs/supports Cruz with donations but have contacted Trump’s campaign to let them know I appreciate what he is doing (I also mentioned to them that Cruz is my first choice...)

And this is precisely why states should do away with the open primaries.
