Some people really like that he says what they wish they could say. But talk is cheap. Specifics count. Hmmm. Which candidate will I vote for... The one who says he can do it, but may or may not have a clue just how? That's the ticket! /s.

But, but, some might say Trump doesn't play nice with the media. So what. Big deal. Like that will get anything done. P.T. Barnum said the way to get attention, and basically drive up sales and have a carnival like atmosphere is to start a fight. We have had enough fights and what seems to be rope-a-dope ad nauseum is getting old.

More sarcasm - Host: How will you build the wall?

I will get Mexico to pay for it.

Host: How?

China has a big wall, thousands of miles long.

Host: Uhhhh, ok... Yeah. They built it then, but we aren't talking about that and their building of it doesn't mean you can tell them to do it and they just will. Again, how are you go to build it?

Did I say that was really rich? I'm really rich.

Host: How is that going to build a wall?

Did I say that I'm reallllllly smart?

Host: How is that going to build a wall?

I'm really rich. did I say that yet? - Sarcasm off.

... ... ... ...

LOL...

Great post! Shows the depth of the thoughts of Trump.

He NEVER answers HOW he will do anything!

I like what he says too but I live in the real world and know it isn’t quite that simple.

do you think the media ever asked obama how he could increase coverage and increase benefit of health care and still cut cost? Nope, OBama simply say so and the media report and circle the wagon, never wondering how it was possible and attack anyone who ask how

I took O’Reilly to task when Obama gave executive amnesty for some Dreamers by bringing up a past show where O’Reilly said that Obama giving deferment to dreamers was the “humane thing” to do. I was attacked for this by some saying that I was not being very nice for bringing this back up.

But I imagine they will be singing a different tune now about O’Reilly.

And some sure like the polls from CNN and other outfits that show Trump way up over others (even if it is a “liberal” outfit that is giving the poll), but if it is a poll that shows him much lower than others then it is an establishment poll, from a “liberal” outfit” and must not be trusted...

Same ol same ol.

From what I’ve read about Trump, this is just what he does. He has a history of making vague, grandiose promises and never delivering.

US Foreign Aid to Mexico (Circa 2013 ):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_foreign_aid

U.S. Total Economic and Military Assistance FY 2013, $US millions: $420 M

Economic Assistance FY 2013, $US millions: $349 M

$420 + $349 = $769 M

We can start with that number and charge it to them.

One way to do it is to tax remittances and use the tax to pay for a wall. That way the immigrants themselves would pay for it.

There is actually a pretty easy way for Mexico (or at least Mexicans) to pay for the wall. A tax on remittances to Mexico.

In 2013, over $23,000,000,000 were sent to Mexico from abroad, the vast majority from the United States.

If the United States wanted to send a strong message, they could slap a 10% remittance tax on those money transfers and designate it to building a wall.

Almost $2,000,000,000 a year would go directly into the funding of building a wall, all of it from Mexicans.

Trump knows perfectly well that Mexico won't pay for a wall because he says so. He also knows perfectly well that this kind of empty rhetoric appeals to a certain mindset of voter.

Putting that aside for a moment and pretending that he was serious, let's think about how could this scenario actually be implemented. The only way it would happen is if the US either seized all Mexican-owned assets in the US (something even China or Russia wouldn't do), or sending in US troops to occupy Mexico City until the wall is paid for (i.e. starting a major war). When you actually think things through instead of falling for cheap rhetoric, you start to see his candidacy for the clownshow that it is.

All of this is sad, of course, because as far as I'm concerned the Mexican illegal invasion is probably the biggest threat facing America today. It's a shame that such an important message has such a lousy messenger.

Ted Baxter was too dense to catch what Trump was saying: Trump understands that Mexico makes too much money off one-sided trade deals to refuse to build the fence; they will have no choice if he is President.

The flip side of that is, will The Donald trade a lousy fence for continuing to allow Perot’s “Giant Sucking Sound” to exist without adjustments?

Why not tax money sent back to Mexico via wire transfers? that'd pay for the wall.

There Trump can use my idea.

Import tariffs
Taxes on monies sent to Mexico
Subtract it from foreign aid

Easy peasy

Trump doesn't just say because I say so. Mexico is taking in billions and it will be negotiated. A GOOD negotiator isn't going to reveal his "tactics" before the negotiations begin. It's much too early to be discussing specifics.

Good luck with any other candidates negotiating deals. Bush is a loser. Walker cannot even negotiate a lower interest on his credit cards.

Donald Trump: wish in one hand, s**t in the other.

We laugh at liberals when they say they’re just going to wish something into reality. When Trump does it, FR stands and cheers.

A 10% fee on all money sent to Mexico will get that wall built fast. 23 billion sent last year, 120 billion in total for all countries.
