The pontiff has shortlisted Hollywood heavy-hitters for a special meeting at the Vatican this fall. The topic? Improving the church's portrayal in Western entertainment.

Ari Emanuel might soon get a chance to hug it out with the pope.
Sources say the William Morris Endeavor superagent and his co-CEO Patrick Whitesell are on a shortlist of media players whom reps for Pope Francis have approached for a special meeting at the Vatican this fall.
The pontiff apparently is interested in discussing how the church is perceived by Western media influencers and ways to improve its portrayal in entertainment. The Vatican, which is said to be working with the nonprofit Varkey Foundation, came up with a list of Hollywood players to invite to a summit of sorts. Film and television producer Brian Grazer, OWN mogul Oprah Winfrey, actor Matt Damon and semiretired supermogul David Geffen also scored invites, according to sources.

I hate him.
Check out this article in the National Review: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/417383/secret-roots-liberation-theology
And also this one: http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/06/28/us-pope-orthodox-idUSKCN0P80KU20150628
Note the person in common in both articles: Kirill, the man the KGB put in place to develop liberation theology in Latin America, a theology which the current pope is so fond of. The pope will be meeting with Kirill soon. Kirill has gone on to be appointed the head of the Russian Orthodox church.
Just wants to use the OBozo playbook to get a piece of the celebrity pie.
He is only going to change that portrayal if he is willing to embrace the gay agenda.
Is he prepared to do that? Shockingly part of me thinks yes.
Ditto. I attended a Jesuit university, and sent my son to one of their high schools after up-armoring him for years. I know from Jesuits. They’re all a bunch of leftist stooges, and I’m not surprised by anything that has happened.
He is probably getting spiritual advice from the witch.
Congrats on rejecting the propaganda!
I thought the Pope didn’t watch TV.
How does the know who these people are?
Yeah. And a vow of poverty too. He only sits on a golden throne, eats the best food, is driven around in luxury, has lackeys bowing and scraping before him, has the best of everything. But, like Benny Hinn, none of it is his. He just acts like it is.
He is an evil man. And the people around him are also evil.
Benny Hinn owns many material goods. The Popes understand that they own none of the trappings or security which belongs to the Office.
The rock star pope strikes again.
C’mon man Jesus came to save the sinners.
I can’t understand why the Pope would want to be approving unto the world, and especially with the likes of Oprah.
She is the one who denied that Christ Jesus was the only way on one of her programs long ago. I can still hear her screech in my head: “what about Jesus?”.
This just seems to tie into all the other things going on, like the upcoming United Nations speech he is going to give in the fall, and that speech might even entail combining all the faiths under a common banner. SMH
Pope Obama. Put whichever head under the mitre hat and it’s all the same.
Ditto x 100
Notice: The daily sport of posting Catholic bashing threads on FR stops today. Thanks.

I'm posting an article about the Pope that appears on a major website.
Seems you correctly note that this Pope has issues. The First Step to recovery from alcoholism (for example) is admitting you have a problem.
That’s interesting. There were quite a few questions about criticizing the Poope.
