Bush may be a RINO but he does seem to have a bit of respect in him. I just cannot picture Obama in 6 years doing the same thing....

Hi nick,

I remember this article from 2006.

http://www.csmonitor.com/2006/0110/p01s03-uspo.html

I find it interesting that President didn’t take any action to avoid jury service.

Former president George W. Bush surprised a Dallas courthouse Wednesday morning when he showed up as a member of the jury pool. After receiving a jury summons, Bush sat through the jury selection panel for a case in Judge Eric Moye's court on the 14th civil district at the George Allen Courts Building in Dallas, according to Freddy Ford, the president's spokesperson. Surprisingly, (or maybe not), Bush was not picked to serve as a juror. Bush sat there for about three hours and posed for photos with fellow jury candidates, judges and other court staff before leaving with his security...

Former U.S. President George W. Bush showed up for jury duty Wednesday in Texas, according to images posted to social media. “Look who I just met doing Jury Duty! #POTUS” Desiree Bryant wrote on Twitter early Wednesday afternoon, attaching of photo of herself and the 43rd president. The picture was also circulated by other Twitter users. According to the Dallas Morning News, Bush reported for duty at the George L. Allen Sr. Courts Building in downtown Dallas. One of the jurors said Bush spoke to everyone and posed for multiple photos.

Being summoned for jury duty at the George L Allen Sr Courts Building in downtown Dallas was anything but dull for Sheri Coleman. In fact, Coleman and other jurors were in for quite the surprise when former President George W. Bush also showed up for jury duty at Judge Eric Moye’s court on the 14th civil district. “They made it seem like it was an anonymous juror that never showed up and then they brought him in,” she said. Coleman, of Dallas, said Bush spent time talking to the other jurors and took photos and spoke with everyone. She said...

Bush’s spokesman Freddy Ford confirmed the president was summoned for jury duty and said Bush was at the courthouse in the 600 block of Commerce Street from about 8:50 a.m. until just before noon. Secret service could be seen outside Moye’s court on the 5th floor of the courthouse. Despite sitting through the jury selection panel, the former president was not picked to serve as a juror. ...

Seriously, regardless of RINO positions, GWB has always struck me as an honest and honorable man.

“It would be great if everyone took their jury service the same way [Bush] did,” Moye told The Dallas Morning News. “He understood it was important, he took it in good nature and he was engaged and talked to the lawyers.”

I’ve been “selected” three times, always by regular mail. The first time, I sat in a small waiting room all day, watching t.v. and reading old magazines. The second time, same story, only for two days that time.

I got three separate parking tickets for my efforts at being a good citizen, which completely wiped out the pittance I received for jury duty.

The third time I received my jury duty notice via U.S. mail, I pitched it in the round file and never heard another word about it.
