D.C.’s summer gun violence: By the numbers and neighborhoods

There has been a well-documented uptick in crime in D.C. and big cities throughout the country this summer. An increase in crime during the summer months isn’t unusual, but in D.C. at least, crime involving guns is up more than normal.

District, Measured — the blog from the District’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer — looked through the data to see how this summer stacks up against other recent summers and where exactly this crime spike is occurring. In June and July this year, there were 428 crimes involving guns. (That accounts for a good chunk of the 1,183 gun-involved crimes that have occurred in the city since January.) By comparison, in June and July 2014, there were 333 crimes involving guns in D.C.

So obviously there needs to be an "uptick" on restrictions on ANY law abiding citizen possessing firearms in d.c. It seems to be working well in other "major" cities.

It is unfair that the DC denizens have such high gun crime. BUT, not to fear, under HUD's new "affirmatively furthering fair housing" the criminal element will be brought to a neighborhood near you and YOU get to fund it. Embrace the suck. And if you don't like it...

< “Bad” is the general answer in cities across the nation.

I wonder if things would be different if:

Obama wasn't president and his biggest donor wasn't a Communist gun control advocate that funds several anti-gun groups

the MSM didn't oversensationalize the shootings and turn the shooters into celebrities

adults were actually allowed to discipline their children

prayer was allowed in school

the bible was once again considered the law and its wisdom embraced teaching children to respect their elders for one.

people's religious freedoms, namely Christianity wasn't so vehemently attacked and demonized in the media

racial agitators for profit were quelled

we secured our borders and kept gang members and criminal elements across the borders

we stopped giving subsidies to illegal immigrants who bring across the criminal elements

video games and handheld devices didn't have so many shoot'em up games

TV and movies were more about storylines and not such much about shock value and graphic violence

colleges and universities didn't teach and preach the gospel of the liberal government

people weren't so overtaxed and overstressed by a tyrranical government hellbent on controlling every aspect of citizen's lives...

Hmmm...I wonder

Or, you might be reassigned to a neighborhood that doesn’t exactly fit your lifestyle. Just to level the playing field of course. :>}

Whatever happened to the summer of love, man?

They're the a**holes that are now running the country into the ground, spreading divisiveness, envy, and hate everywhere they go...
