Testy? If that had been me I would have been a tad more than testy! No one else was served personal attacks before a question was asked of him. From the opening question about 3rd party which was a set up fake poll for ALL the candidates when in reality it was meant as a slam for Trump---right out of the box.

No, he was not at his finest but by his own admission he said he was not a debater and silly him I truly believe he went into that thinking it was going to be a debate where he would treated like everyone else.

I have suspected something similar. Conservatives are tired of being bulldozed by the Washington D.C. cartel. When Boehner and McConnell made war on the conservatives that we sent to D.C. to represent us, we felt frustrated and powerless. With every broken promise, every slap in the face, our collective anger swelled.

Donald Trump's ability to punch back at the cartel without getting bulldozed himself has made him something of a would-be dragonslayer. Right now, all that matters is that the dragon gets slain.

At the end of most fairytales, however, the dragonslayer is celebrated for vanquishing the foe, but he doesn't get to be king.

I think Trump's positions are grounded in one non-partisan thing: he hates what Obama is doing to the country, and he hates how the Republicans in Congress are letting him run wild.

Trump sees everything he's built up for himself and his family and friends being threatened by radical leftist policies, and if Republicans are too old, too tired, too afraid, or feel to cozy to stop it, then he's going to step in and try to fix it himself.

The answer is that those on the inside get to decide on who can be inside. Trump's not qualified because they say so, and that's it.

Would Trump as President vascillate between liberal and conservative policy decisions? Maybe. Would Trump make liberal social issues his priority? Right now, he's saying we don't have time for that, and that he's running on more urgent needs. Is Trump to be believed that his Job #1 is restoring American jobs, manufacturing, security, and negotiating strength with our allies, and that he's not going to pivot left on other things once in office (like McConnell and Boehner) and abandon his campaign promises?

That's what the primary is all about.

This type of thing happened when Wallace went after Newt in 2012 debates...the candidates were getting upset because the questions from Cnn weren’t about the issues they wanted to speak about...Newt nailed them hard and got a standing ovation for doing so...Wallace was booed.... Trump could have done likewise....

Well I did say "in some circles." When permitted to speak Ted did great, everything our fury could wish for. But doing that and also coming across as a polite, nice person works across a broader spectrum of prospective voters than uncontrolled anger. There are plenty of us in Network (1976) mode politically. But there are also are many (annoyingly many to the former crowd) who don't like the status quo, but are turned off any approach exceeding victorian tea party etiquette. I suspect many of Carson's admirers fall in that category. Some of them, historically annoyingly, can be lured to vote for the dark side if the media calling conservative alternatives 'extremists" often enough keeps them from hearing the conservative message. Cruz is trying to position himself as a fall back option for all GOP voters except the hardcore RINOs. Also, in the current environment being seen as a victim and target of the media (I've seen multiple articles mentioning Cruz didn't get his fair share or air time) draws more attention to his campaign.

there is a big difference between attending a homosexual marriage and Jesus eating with the tax collectors. One is a celebration of sin. The other is an opportunity for sinners to repent.

In the example you cite, Matthew had become a disciple and then invited his friends from the profession he was leaving to hear Jesus. Do you think He would have been permitted to “call the...sinners” to repentance at a homosexual wedding?

Well, I saw it, before youtube took it down. Really, they should make this available. By keeping it from the public, they are falling into the stereotype that everything is controlled by money.

My general impression is that Trump won the “show” because it wasn’t really a debate. Cruz was terrific and I’m sorry he didn’t get to speak about Israel when he wanted to. He’s not the big personality that Trump is, but everything he said was correct. He needs to make an exception to his policy of not changing his views when it comes to the H-1B visa issue. I had other reactions but will read the thread first.

A gay wedding involves someone saying that God/Christ is blessing it, that`s why a Christian can NOT attend such a unholy event.

You are so correct, I was railing on this the last couple days...Sean asked Luntz the first night what the make up of the group was, he answered it`s 2-1 against Trump, he said he wanted it that way to be in line with the polls???

He always does this and Sean only asks him this on rare occasion, when he does it`s always heavily slanted to Democrats.

You are so right they are a farce. Anybody that tuned into Hannity that missed the 30 seconds when it was discussed the first night, had no idea it was 2-1 against Trump on purpose, anybody that watched only the 2nd night would not be aware of this

All his focus groups are also stacked against Tea Party/Social Conservatives, he spent most of his career on NBC and much of it rubbing shoulders with Morning Joe folks

I actually heard Chris Matthews say Cruz had a very good night. Now we will probably never hear that from his lips again, but he did say it...I flipped through the dial the moment the debate ended just to see what they said

They all hated Trump, that was clear. BTW I loved Cruz answer about.... has God spoken to you, to me he won the debate with that from the heart line

Excellent, Luntz admitted to Hannity that his 2 night focus group with hannity was 2-1 against Trump...Luntz always does this, he is a joke, but Fox keeps bringing him back.

They should say to him, ok we will have you back but you have to have 50/50 groups
