I don’t trust Trump. Hopefully he’ll implode and Cruz or maybe Fiorina will take the lead.

If Trump implodes, Bush takes the lead which nobody wants.

He never had a chance at all, but neither do Cruz or Fiorina.

Ditto! Like most people, I was enjoying and appreciated Trump's soar to the top highlighting illegal immigration. I winced at his 'un-presidential' antics however and attacks on anyone who was critical of him.

After last night, I'm baffled that anyone could determine he 'won' the debate. Trump is incredibly thin skinned and should NEVER have his finger on the button as POTUS!

Fiorina is a tough debater, but a RINO who would sell us out on EVERYTHING within the first two years of her only term, especially on immigration.

I agree, but then I don't trust the GOP or Fox news. They really love to push the RINOS.

Who ever becomes president, the DC Cartel will co-opt them and force that person to do support their agenda.

Fiorina isn't any more ideologically trustworthy than Trump. I don't trust Trump either because of his recent about-faces on so many issues and connection to liberal foundations and politicians, but the same is true of Fiorina.

Having said that, they hardly unique in this way, most of the other Republicans have changed their tune or talked out of both sides of their mouths on a whole range of issues too.

I'm a Cruz supporter all the way, but I think Trump and his supporters are being severely misunderstood. Prior to last night, I was at least a little concerned as well that he was somehow working an angle on all of this, perhaps to give Hillary a boost. But in his interview with Sean Hannity after the debate I think he came across convincingly as being genuinely concerned about the present state of the country. I think he's sincere about what he's saying.

And to listen to people on both sides of the political divide puzzled by his high level of support is amazing. It is so obvious that his support is because of his willingness to just say what needs to be said, without taking focus group-approved talking points and running them through a PC filter. His support is not so much because of who he is, or even whether people think he is "electable", but because people are sick and tired of the same old political nonsense and are hungry for anyone who will call it like he sees it and who they believe will actually DO something about the country's problems.

Ted Cruz has done much the same (just ask Mitch McConnell), but so far he is unfortunately being largely ignored by the media. I hope that Cruz is ultimately able to break through because he has the Trump directness, but matched with an incredible intellect and political savvy. In the meantime, though, I think Trump has been a positive factor because he has forced issues that otherwise would have been ignored to be pushed to the forefront, and has forced the other candidates to take clearer positions on touchy subjects.
