Female Trump Staffer Dismisses Critics, Says Attacks on Megyn Kelly 'Fair Game'
NBC News ^ | KATY TUR and PHIL HELSEL

The female co-chair of Donald Trump's Iowa campaign is firing back against criticism that the real estate tycoon's comments about Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly were sexist and inappropriate.

-snip-

Tana Goertz, Trump's Iowa co-chair, said she did not interpret the comment in the same way critics have, and was not offended. "I've always been treated with dignity and respect," she said.

"I am a woman. I experience that every month. And it never crossed my mind. So I think people are just looking at pinpointing him as sexist and all these other things," Goertz said.

I mean, we fought to have equal rights, right? So it's fair game," Goertz said. "If a woman attacks Mr. Trump, he's going to attack back. Megyn is no exception."

We as “civilized” people want our leaders to be completely different from ourselves. So when they show us only what they want to and suppress their true selves we put them on a pedestal. We believe they are better, more moral, of higher intelligence and have a calm demeanor.

The truth is those running for office are exactly like us. The phrase OTR, is more than common, just the initials make a connotation of something we recognize. Women use the descriptive phrase, men use the phrase. Men can be OTR, but more commonly women are.

We need to get rid of the PC restrictions on thought and speech. We go along with the idiotic rantings of liberals and say “the N word”, no more saying retarded, it is mentally challenged. No more saying crippled, it is differently abled. Confederate flags and icons are to be destroyed, but our people wear Che’ t-shirts.

It is really quite simple what we are doing to ourselves. By limiting speech, we are limiting thought. I for one do not filter one thing I say, except for the F-word, I say what I want and let the chips fall where they may. Donald Trump does the same, and though I may or may not ever vote for him I love it.

It is way past time we get away from the smooth phonies of the past, to the reality of opinion and speech. It is not so much that Trump is bombastic, it is that he is saying what I, and I assume a large number of people besides me say to the TV or friends, THEIR UNFILTERED OPINION. I must say, I love it.

You could say that, if it was limited to this one instance. But Trump reacts like a petulant child whenever anyone (particularly in the media) dares to criticize him, for whatever reason.

Yet it was fine for Megyn Kelly to go on Stern’s show and talk about her sex life.......

They think they’ve got Trump in a ‘macaca’ moment. We’ll see.

They attack him.

If they want to criticize his stand on immigration do so.

You don’t come out and call him names and tell him to drop out based on those views.

That’s BS.

I like that he responds to slights and insults. I remember one politician who did not and just let everything roll off his back. because eh “did not want to get in the gutter” with his critics I don’t remember that it worked out really well for Bush 43.

Everything is fair game, obviously. There are no rules. The question is, did the thing you did make you more popular, or less popular. That’s politics. In this case, I believe opinion polls will start to reveal that they are decreasing their degree of amusement at the Trump show. It’s been good for the GOP so far. No way do 24 million people watch that “debate” if he’s not on it.

It's not playing politics that has been his strong point - if he were worried about fallout, he wouldn't have stood strong to end up where he is. I'll try not to tie your screen name to your post and leave it to be a homophone.

You like that his default response to any criticism is to call his critics “losers”? OK.

Those with TDS on this forum are tedious and boring.

They don’t understand that Trump alone has put the DC cartel in knots and it is about damn time somebody did it.

Without him at the top of the polls he would be ignored and the issue of the day would be buggering queers and poor little Michael Brown.

To hell with that crap.

So do you like the default “lay there and take it” response to criticism of Bush, McConnell, Boner and others? Obama said the republican party is in common cause with Iranian islamonazis more than once in the past few days and none of the republican “leadership” has even mentioned it yet as far as I know. Those guys really are losers for taking it. I prefer Trump’s response to insults better than the GOP-E alternative. I also hope he keeps doing it as I think that more people in the uniparty/media establishment deserve to be called out as losers, not less.

Most in the media have been acting like petulent children for years, shielded by parents who pretend their children can do no wrong.

Now Trump and a few others have begun to rip away that shield and the spoiled children are spitting and fuming and whining about the mean people who won’t play by the old rules that let them get away with all their games like before.

Long past time these media frauds were exposed. Need more of it.

No. I am referring to 43 and Karl Rove’s “new tone” experiment which failed miserably, although 41 acted much the same way.
