They've even changed Bugs and Daffy to something I don't recognize. But the one cartoon that gets overlooked is Spongebob. The unending hysterical tantrums, the walking around with the friend in underwear with hands on each other butts yeah it's obvious.

I glanced at another cartoon the other night called King of the hill I think it was. They made extreme efforts to make the parents, the parents morality, and the parents concerns, to be ridiculed and the kids the brains of the families. It had something to do with music and a group playing "Tears in heaven" and some crude dancing to it. Why they chose that song I'll never know. Poor taste especially when the son of the person who wrote the song died tragically at about age 6 and was the inspiration. Cartoon Network is trying to play itself as a kids network and a lot of it's cartoons are not suitable for kids or even adults with any sense. My TV is staying more and more on non video music channels like Sonic. The good news is DVD's are coming down.

If I could get free TV from an outdoor antenna I'd likely drop my satellite. But where I'm at terrain makes that impossible & there's no high speed internet service providers either.

You have to watch the games on the Play Store too. I have seen games like a woman having a baby, pulling teeth, surgery, etc. Stuff that kids should not be exposed to.

The category exists on Netflix for shows and movies called spiritual and religion, IIRC. I am watching a miniseries right now on. Netflix called Confessions of a Prodigal son. It’s okay, and the name says very well what it’s based on.

Well, that’s life simulation gaming for you. People throw hundreds of dollars into virtual life events. I always thought games were for non-life events such as Super Mario Bros., but sadly, a number of people are addicted to living a fake life in their computer game.

I do not. My point is that they are relative to minorities and special groups that are very small representation of the overall population but are starting to be seen more and more as mainstream while the largest portion of the population continues to be ignored and denigrated as not cool or good.

Thanks for the info.

I meant to ask for a “Roku” channel, but I mistakenly typed “Netflix.”

But, now that you told me about that category, I can look it up on Netflix.

Um, that “defense” isn’t a whole lot better.

What do you care if mixed-race couples are presented at all? It’s not as though there are no all-white couples on television. Your comment indicates a serious problem.

Can’t even enjoy an afternoon of reading any more before having to experience one of these “relationships”.

For that reason I have lost all interest in current fiction. Usually summer isn't summer without one proverbial cheap novel. Now I won't go near that stuff. It's more than corrupting -- it's plain irritating.

Here, the population was overwhelmingly of Norwegian, German, and Misc Scandanavian ancestry, with a small percentage of American Indian. Rap music and the videos in just the time that has been on TV (little else to do in winter) have significant numbers of kids talking and acting (and dressing 'ghetto'. Not part of the regional multiculture.

Media has a definite effect on the perceptions of the masses about what is normal, what groups are how prevalent, and what behaviours are 'acceptable'. As usual, those who are not accepting of those perceptions are portrayed as 'out of touch' in the media, and thus undermined in efforts to stymie the spread of crapculture.

The whole 'generation' gap/squares/not cool thing worked so well in the '60s/'70s, it is still in play.

Yeah you know me. If you did you would know I am sick of media and marketing and they way they project their views on everything. On the other hand I really do not care what you think of what I think or believe.

I only know you by your words.

And when those words are a stated objection to seeing interracial couples on television, it doesn’t speak well of you.

You don’t like the media? Then stop feeding their false narrative that conservatives are racists.
