No need to speculate as it already happened in the NY special election where the poorly vetted GOP candidate Scuzzafava (sp?) openly advocated voting for the Dem instead of the insurgent TEA party candidate who was leading in the numbers game. Public embarassment as Newt and others got caught out as seriously ignorant of local conditions while flogging GOP uber alles.
A not so golden oldie best swept under the rug.
after the Trump collapse
You sound like one of the pundits from national review. Candidates don´t collapse. They get taken out by the other candidates. So far all the other candidates have been cowering in fear of Trump. His poll numbers will keep rising.
The long term plan is coming together.....nicely......some things are inevitable, and Cruz will be the big time beneficiary of those dynamics.
I agree, except I won’t say the “tard” vote...I will say the voters who are currently so anti Washington that they’ll ignore some stark realities at the moment. Eventually they’ll come home, and Cruz Control is where most of them will land.
-because he’s also a fearless fighter, albeit with less of massive personality than Trump - but with far more impeccable conservative credentials.
The words “Foolish” and “GOP” more so than not seem increasingly to show up in the same headline.
Yep.
The GeeOpie has jumped the shark.
We saw him in Newnan, GA at the beginning of his cross country tour and he had to meet visit with us in a field behind the venue because we had around 1,000 turn out. He IS our next President and his passion for making America great again is contagious
Let’s hope the GOP has the sense to embrace him. Imagine a president of character, integrity, compassion, and immense intelligence. (Yes, I’m a fan. :))
And...something else. You can throw me in prison for what I'm about to say, but you can' throw us ALL in prison. Showing contempt and condescension to a LOT of people is a path to something else you don't want either. One can say they don't like someone or something and then endure the backlash or engage in debate about it. Cutting people off and showing contempt for what they have to say? Not a good idea in any arena. No thanks.
Yep.
with far more impeccable conservative credentials
Credentials don´t win the nomination. Do you remember Romney? He won by destroying the competition one candidate at a time.
Cruz has elevated himself in my eyes because he will not attack the other candidates. When Perry attacked Trump I decided I would not be supporting Perry. At this point, I’ve begun to support Cruz.
And if he doesn’t collapse you will support Trump with us retards?
Pray America is waking
Perry is no longer able to pay his staff.
If people are looking for a “collapse”, there it is.
You said...
“Wisdom, and at every turn TED shows he is Presidential.”
And he’s a conservative. Unlike the bomb throwing, Democrat Trump. However, Cruz seems to be the only one who understands why Trump is attracting supporters. Cruz seems to be the only one that grasps the angst of the American people
Trump has the visibility and the megaphone. I hope he keeps using it to shine a light in some of our very dark corners, rather than spending his energy and visibility on petty feuds.
Meanwhile, have another drink of Megyn blood!
Good morning class....a little lesson about perspective and history. First, credentials don't "win the nomination" - true - but it's foolish to extrapolate from this technically true statement that voters shouldn't EXAMINE and WEIGH those credentials. That was MY POINT.
Second lesson: Romney did not win by destroying the competition so much as Newt immolated in Florida after SC. Even after Newt stumbled out of the gate and had ZERO money and all his advisors jumped to Rick Perry's ship - he rolled to a huge lead in Iowa in December. Then after ALL SIX other candidates, Paul and Romney and Santorum mostly - attacked Newt mercilessly and destroyed him in Iowa and New Hampshire - Newt rallied and dominated SC and the national polls heading into Florida.
He would have won Florida and perhaps the nomination had he kept up his SC style campaign in Florida. Yes, Mitt spent a zillion in Florida and 99% of it was anti Newt (literal stat) - but Newt then played right into the trap. The point here is not Newt - the point here is to clarify misconceptions about why Romney won the nomination.
SOTC: History clarification ping!
The GOP wants Trump gone. There are reasons for this, but to state the desire openly is pretty stupid. Which I guess is what the GOP is.
Well, let’s just work up a dream ticket from what we have.
Cruz at the top. We could have Walker as VP, or perhaps Fiorina for “diversity”.
Carson is Surgeon General, hands down.
Trump at Commerce.
Ann Coulter as Sec State...
