I used to rule the world. Seas would rise when I gave the word. Now in the morning I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to own. Viva la Vida by Coldplay
The Republican primary is a race against the GOP elite who have enjoyed Viva la Vida for far too long. This is not the time to ask the candidates to swear allegiance to Karl Rove and Reince Priebus.
Conservatives forget who the real enemy of a 2016 Republican victory is: the GOP elite. Their goal: to preserve their Viva la Vida. They are betting you will help with that. But if you have a lick of sense in you, you wont. Heres why:
1) They carry water for the Democrats.
2) They talk the PC narrative.
3) They let Democrat threats scare and even stop them.
4) They compromise before they even negotiate.
5) They negotiate away their chips, and they do not use their leverage.
6) They give up before they start.
7) They avoid some issues entirely, already ceding defeat.
If you take a close look at the list above, Trump doesnt do one of those things. There are others in the GOP race for POTUS who might make a better president than Trump, but conservatives who cuss Trump at this moment have lost their vision. Its like they forgot the past 20 years of compromise, failure, spinelessness, elitist politics, broken promises, political correctness and lost elections.

He's becoming the new Putin around here - say one complimentary thing & suddenly your a "Trumbot".
On the other hand I'm sure most around here understand that its possible to appreciate the beneficial effects of a political force without becoming it's slavering acolyte.
Got to consider that Mr. Trump is considered a battering ram for the conservatives.
I want to ask you if what I think I’m reading is correct, because I really can’t believe my eyes.
Are you indeed saying that you want to toss the Constitution and elect a dictator (Trump)?
Please tell me I’m seeing things.
High five. I smile just picturing that.
Please see post number 22. Thank-you.
If a Democrat is elected he will be a dictator. Obama is ruling by decree already. In case we haven't noticed. We are already have a Banana Republic, but el presidente wears tennis attire and fills his junta with Soros employees.
You are right, we need to eliminate whole agencies of government to return to constitutional government, and it will take someone who is immune to press rage to do it, which takes someone with a very clear vision of what constitutional government looks like. And very thick skin.
So, Cruz and Trump?
On top of the ticket, a guy who wants to increase H1-B visas 500%, thus destroying the ability for U.S. engineers to, say, pay a mortgage.
On the bottom of the ticket, a buddy of the Clintons who wants to keep funding Planned Parenthood.
What a winner! </s>
Actually, if there’s any kissing to be done ... Trump can do it. And not my ring.
Drumpf does NOT want us to kiss his ring. He wants us to kiss his behind.
As much as I love what he's done in bringing the illegals issue to the front, I dislike many of his past (and a couple of current) pronouncements, his constant flip flops, and simply hope he doesn't come back and bite us all in the rear end in the most painful of ways.
My 2 cents.
It is all we have. None of the others has the cojones to stand up to the EPA and the Democrats. It is all academic anyway. Bush will be the nominee or his replacement will be. The RNC controls the superdelegates to the convention and can override any candidate who does not have an overwhelming majority of the primary delegates. The RNC can and probably will disallow portions or all of delegations from conservative voting states.
So what? I’m asking arthurus about his post.
Soros employees and Moslem Brotherhood activists.
Speechless here.
You have just announced that you won’t vote at all. The next president must, like the current president be a dictator. Congress and the Court have ceded essentially all power to the Executive which is the President which makes him a Dictator. Hussein Obama is a Dictator. He is not totally secure in his power else he would be arresting talk show hosts and recalcitrant Senators already. The President cannot give those powers back to the Courts and the Congress. They would simply give them back to the next Democrat or would formally vest them all in the Agencies which are the President.
that’s a wrap, folks. we’ve lost our minds. will the last one out of the room please turn off the lights.
you’re a walking, talking, unbeatable argument in favor of poll tests. you realize that, don’t you?
My exact feelings and why Trump’s still behind Walker and Cruz, in that order, in my view.
