Kasich? What is with all this Kasich touting? He’s a Rust Belt Christie. Never saw a federal program he didn’t want to sign up for.
I agree. The only people I see toting Kasich are people in the media. most regular people I talk to don’t know him, and it’s hard to imagine him getting much greater name recognition outside the rust belt.
Walker, Bush, Cruz and Rubio all, I think, have a shot. I wouldn’t even count out Trump, frankly. I think the base is so anti establishment right now that he could pull it off.
The establishment likes Kasich because they think he can bring along Ohio’s significant electoral votes (without which no R has ever been elected). He does have experience as a Governor and a Congressman, including service as Chmn of the House Budget Committee. Also, he’s youngish, fairly attractive, and has a photogenic family.
