Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated that abortion is a “fairly small part” of what Planned Parenthood does, and that “Maybe unless they stop with the abortions, we don’t do the funding for the stuff that we want” an interview broadcast on Tuesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.
Trump said of Planned Parenthood [relevant remarks being around 5:45] and his previous comments about shutting the government down to defund them and the positive things Planned Parenthood does along with his argument that, “certainly, the abortion aspect of it should not be funded, by government, absolutely,” “They do good things, I’m talking about defund having to do with the abortion.”
Trump was then asked if they should get any taxpayer money, He answered, “let’s say there’s two Planned Parenthoods, in a way. You have it as an abortion clinic. Now, that’s actually a fairly small part of what they do, but it’s a brutal part, and I’m totally against it, and I wouldn’t do that.

But he talks tough about stuff. Remember a few years back when Chris Christie was the new hotness because he got red faced and screamed at some teacher union morons? Same deal. Its now Trump’s turn to have conservatives slap their blinders on and bark rabidly in support of him for a few months.

Trump is simply an unprincipled, unprepared pragmatist. He can be useful on an issue-by-issue basis, but not as the leader of people who want to be free.

Yes, let’s remember that Ann Coulter was flamed daily around here for her support first of Christie, and then of Mitt.....and now today many of the very people who flamed her the most are using her words and ideas as reasons to go Trump train.
How? He’s useful to the Dems, but not the GOPe. He’s pulling in votes from the rest of the field. This is not a good position for the GOP, at all.

I’m a Cruz-bot and not a Trump-drone, but Trump is here using PP’s own words against it. PP claims — not someone else — that abortion is a ‘very small part’ of what they do.
Trump is using that against them and saying, let’s defund that part that they talk down and leave them with their pap smears and breast exams and birth control pills, since THEY say that’s the heart of their business.
BUT, if they won’t give up abortions, then we defund them.

That is exactly the thought I was trying to make. Your idea is wonderful and some conservative needs to use it. Don’t scare women by taking away their means of care with no alternate but add your idea of “non abortion” female care clinics to their statement of defunding the butchers. It would be well received.

I’ve been supportive of Trump so far but this shows weakness. This is why Trump needs Cruz.
No it’s not because he calls for defunding if they continue to do abortions. So he’s still with conservatives but his characterization on the stats is disturbing.
