The entire “confrontation” came across to me as a parallel to, for example, the Party meeting in the movie “Reds” which had Warren Beatty as the American red commie reporter and Diane Keaton as his fellow traveler. They go to Russia for the “revolution” and are at a “worker’s” meeting that has been pre-engineered for a public “re-structuring” of leadership.
