My MIL died of liver cancer, 10 years ago, and 6 months after it was first diagnosed. She had a few other health issues (heart) and decided not to undergo any type of treatment. She had lived with us for the last years, after her husband died. She remained at home, and was fairly comfortable up until the last two weeks. Then they really had to increase the pain meds. She died at home, in her own bed, surrounded by her things..as opposed to the antiseptic nature of a hospital or a hospice, and her loved ones. I'd sign up for that tomorrow.

I won't comment on Carter's life, but I hope that his family has the wisdom to see that he gets a "good" death..

IMO your MIL had the best death possible in her situation. God bless her soul, and you and your family, Ken.

Agree about Carter.
