This is the part that people say that I don't get.

I don't know, but have suspected for a while, that Fox News might be using a GOPe/Karl Rove strategy to change the mix of its audience. Be less conservative, and lose some conservative viewers, and try to lure more moderate and center/left viewers.

Others have expressed the same thoughts on FR threads. And there are the stories that the Murdoch sons are more leftist then Rudolph and they are moving Fox more to the left.

That would fit my possibility that it was about retaining new viewers.

This would be FNC 3.0.

FNC 1.0 had Hannity and Colmes, O'Reilly, Cavuto, Rita Cosby, Laurie Dhue, Paula Zahn, John Gibson, Catherine Crier, Judith Regan, and The Beltway Boys (Barnes and Kondrake).

FNC 2.0 dropped Colmes, Cosby, Zahn, Gibson, Crier, Regan and the Boys. In came Geraldo, Greta, and the crew today.

FNC 3.0 will be the liberal takeover?

If so, and I do believe it's so, it is stupid marketing. All the other stations already show nothing but leftism. Fox has had that thing that is marketing gold: "sharp differentiation."

All that a left turn will accomplish is to empower a conservative start-up station, and to have to compete harder for viewers to all the other leftist stationss. But then, that's how leftists think. Shoving their transgressive ideology down other people's throats is more important than succeeding with the "bitter clinging mouth-breathers." They are more concerned with what cocktail parties they get invited to than with the "little people."
