Also effective next July, residential bathroom faucets will have a maximum flow rate of 1.2 gallons per minute, down from 2.2 gallons per minute. The standards will save about 154 billion gallons of water in the next 10 years, the commission estimates.

We were just in CA and out of respect for the drought took “navy showers”. It seem to me the hotels had too much water flow.

Shower head flow restriction is generally created by inserting a washer that has small holes in it.

I live in a Great Lakes city, we have plenty of water and it is relatively inexpensive. Whenever I get a new shower head I simply remove the restrictive flow washer and put in a standard open washer. Lots of water pressure.

So the solution to drought is simple: use less water.

Everyone already flushes the low flow toilets twice.

I have one in the house I live. It's amazing how little water it uses to flush but it rarely fails. Undoubtedly some are better than others.

They should mandate a 10 second shower limit. Use those irritating airport faucets that turn themselves off before you can finish washing your hands. Make Californians keep pushing the shower knob every 10 seconds to restart the shower. It’s for the planet!

Low flow toilets have become very efficient. They use a power boost that creates a fast flow of water causing a faster and stronger flush. Many new toilets are also made with adjustable flush. A single push sends a smaller amount of water to flush while a long hold will send twice the amount when a larger flush is called for.

Doing our part. We’ve been using squirt guns to water our plants. Of course we only have cactus now.

Our shower heads have shutoff valves as well. We take military showers in our house. And no, we are not on a meter; we have our own well.

I take the diabetes medication Metformin, 2,000 Mg. per day. Sometimes I have to flush 3 or even 4 times. Anybody who takes this medication knows what I’m talking about.

Actually, the low flow toilets work fine if you utilize courtesy flushes. As for the shower heads, take out the restrictor.

I wish I could take credit for it, I saw it yesterday and told the guy I loved it. I don’t even kow if he originated it or was just using it. It’s a tremendous word. Anytime anyone says don’t say illegals, that’s my substitution.

If you lay on your back and pee in the air you will exceed California water temperature and flow rate standards for a shower.

No but I try really hard to follow dietary guide lines for diabetics, anything to avoid daily insulin injections.

Metformin 2000 Mg. and Glimepiride 8 Mg. daily. The Metformin doesn’t always give me diarrhea but when it does, get outta my way if you’re between me and the bath room.
