Interesting question. IMO, it could happen only if Palin had sufficient reason to believe Trump was a viable and capable candidate who could serve reasonably well as president. We can confidently conclude she will not allow herself to be “used” for political gain again.
Then my answer to your question: she would align herself with a straight-talking middle of the roader, non-politician who has a set and who appears to satisfy the requirements of the bulk of the voters.
My calc: Trump voters + Cruz voters + Sarah voters > traditional dem voters (no matter who that candidate might be).
Pepsionice touched on a significant point: it is clear the segment of voters in the middle has increased sharply. Many conservatives are at a point where they would rather have a middle of the roader than be betrayed once more by a RINO, and many traditional dem voters are concerned with the by now quite clear and obvious lockstep jerk to the far left by the dem party.
Re the title of the thread: EE summarily disinvited DT and then tried to explain and "apologize" by attributing our backlash not to his pompous, egotistical act where the blame belongs but to our dissatisfaction with RINO's. How pathetic.
