The latest on how to protect shillary:
The State Department sent a safe to Hillary Clintons lawyer in early July in an effort to ensure a thumb drive containing classified emails was being stored securely. The unusual move by State came to light Friday, more than a week after the drive itself was turned over to the Department of Justice.
McClatchy reports that evidence of classified information on Hillarys personal email sever first turned up in May, earlier than previously known. A debate ensued between the Inspector General for the Intelligence Community and the State Department about whether the material, including copies of Hillarys emails on a thumb drive kept by her attorney, were properly secured. It is not known what, if any, security precautions were taken between May and July, but in early July the State Department became concerned enough that it delivered a safe to Kendalls office.
The State Department has previously mentioned that it had physically verified the security of the thumb drive in Kendalls office, but never mentioned providing a safe. On July 30th, about a week after word of the thumb drives existence became public knowledge, a State Department spokesman told Politico, Weve provided the lawyers with instructions regarding appropriate measures for physically securing the documents and confirmed via a physical security expert that they are taking those measures.
Nearly a week later, State spokesman Mark Toner again noted that State had sent a security expert to Kendalls office. He told CBS News, We simply cleared the site where theyre being held, made sure that it was a secure facility, and capable of holding what could be classified material. Again, there was no mention of State providing a safe in which to keep the thumb drive.
Throughout this time the State Department has firmly denied that any material on Hillarys server was classified at the time it was generated. But two Inspectors Generalfor State and for the Intelligence Communityhave been equally firm in saying some of the emails were classified when they were generated.
States decision to deliver the safe to Kendalls office in July could be seen in one of two ways: as an admission by the Agency that there is indeed classified material on the drive, despite what its spokespeople have said publicly, or as an effort by State to placate the Inspectors General.
Earlier this week, Senator Chuck Grassley published a letter from the Intelligence Community Inspector General which indicated that two emails in Hillarys inbox had been judged to contain Top Secret information. Shortly afterwards, Hillary announced that she had agreed to turn over her email server, which had been wiped clean and was sitting in a data center in New Jersey.
McClatchy reports that the thumb drive in Kendalls possession was actually turned over on August 6th, a day after stories indicated the FBI was seeking to verify the security of the drive. Its not clear what prompted the decision to take the drive at that time or why the FBI waited another week to collect the server.
There is no word on whether the State Department has retrieved its safe from Kendalls office.
No doubt warrants are being issued as we sit here. U.S. Marshals being dispatched. Then I woke up. One can still dream. For now.
Yes, the beast will escape to kill again.
Admit it.
Our justice system is sh**.
Yesterday, Hillary (in Iowa) was claiming the STATE DEPT had verified that she neither sent nor received classified email. This is the same State Dept. that has been throwing buckets of nails in front of the FOIA request(s) and admitted to Judge Sullivan last week that they are doing nothing to find Hillary’s emails. They are part and parcel of the conspiracy. Hilly is not going to be able to talk her way out of this one .... probably won’t ever end up behind bars (unfortunately), but I think she’s going to be forced out of the campaign. A CNN (Clinton News Network) intelligence commentator (former CIA spy) said she should be disqualified for president for what she has done .... if the networks turn against her, it going to get uglier than it already is. There’s a reason Slick Willy has been hanging close with Otreason this weekend .... IMO.
This begs the question as why the State Dept didn't take legal action (a subpoena?) to recover the drives. Even if they were stored in an approved container (safe) if the lawyers had access to the container and were not cleared, then the information on the drives is still compromised.
can someone cut and past it for us all to read....thanks in advance.
In any case the feds should dispatch a team of investigators to the senders of the 60 e-mails and find out where they got the "top secret docs" from.
and why they sent it to an unsecured site.
In my opinion, I feel the estimate of classified email traffic on the Clinton servicer is way underestimated. I also believe the the National Security Interests of the United States has been compromised to the extent that Treason is a more likely definition of what Clinton did.
Why would State send a safe to a lawyer with no clearance to protect classified information? Someone in the current department is complicit too. Kerry? Just having a safe in an uncleared office does NOT protect TS level material, much less any classified materials, in commercial or otherwise non-government facilities without a facility inspection and approval of the Defense Security Service (DSS).
“Shortly afterwards, Hillary announced that she had agreed to turn over her email server, which had been wiped clean”
AH - HA - HA - HA - HA - HA!
The hard disks cannot be ‘wiped clean’ unless the individual discs in the hard drive are vaporized!
They now have her but I wonder if they really want to destroy her.
