U.S. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., created a firestorm on Capitol Hill recently when he presented evidence the Centers for Disease Control destroyed data linking the MMR vaccine, (measles, mumps and Rubella) and autism. Posey based his indictment on the allegations of Dr. William Thompson, a 17-year veteran of the CDC, who became a whistleblower and charged in a report by Robert E. Kennedy Jr. that was published on WND his superiors pressured him to manipulate data in order to conceal possibly harmful side effects of the MMR vaccine.
It was in August 2014, Thompson alleged, the CDC hid data which revealed the MMR vaccine caused an increased risk of autism when administered to children younger than three years old, with an even greater risk for African-American children. Thompson stated he led or co-led three major vaccine safety studies while working for the CDC. After finding the risks for autism and the disproportionate impact on black children, Thompson charged:
"All the authors and I met and decided sometime between August and September 2002 not to report any race effects from the paper. Sometime soon after the meeting, we decided to exclude reporting any race effects. The co-authors scheduled a meeting to destroy documents related to the study.
"The remaining four co-authors all met and brought a big garbage can into the meeting room, and reviewed and went through all the hardcopy documents that we had thought we should discard, and put them into a huge garbage can. "However, because I assumed it was illegal and would violate both FOIA and DOJ requests, I kept hard copies of all documents in my office, and I retain all associated computer files. I believe we intentionally withheld controversial findings from the final draft of the Pediatrics paper..."

Yeah I get it. The hushed up conspiracies.
It’s like super secret Navy SEAL ARMY Ranger guys who served in Vietnam when they were 7 years old I bet.
The cheesehead is trolling this thread. :)
Failed to answer the point and instead went to an absurdity - means I scored.
Oh there’s a scoreboard on this? Whatever makes you feel good about being panicky over something found multiple times to be harmless.
Not really a scoreboard - but if you’re not willing to address facts that undermine your argument, you aren’t really interested in a discussion. Thus, my comment was more for the benefit of others who may happen upon this thread, so the reader can discern the weakness in the “but the studies say XXX” position.
Good luck to you and may you and yours never suffer a vaccine injury.
Researching the dead biologists I came across this
and thought you might be interested.
But...but, Jenny McCarthy said that vaccines cause autism! If a television celebrity says so, it has to be true! Really!
Donald Trump came across as an idiot last night peddling this line of BS, and his opponents (including two MD's) came across as idiots for not calling him on it.
Well, no matter what, vaccines have saved the lives of millions, maybe even hundreds of millions of people.
When I was young I remember seeing people being interviewed on TV - people who could not move, they were in an Iron lung machine.
Who here even remember those beasts?
And whooping cough, diptheria, these were real killers/disablers. We are talking some serious chit here, folks.
Now with that said, I AM NOT running to the drug store to get my flu shot... or anything else.
There are rumours about an Ebola vaccine - I will assess that one if I need to.
Other than that, my immune system hopefully can handle it!
Oh, and BTW, my maternal grandmother walked with a cane and had a limp.
Polio as a child.
Yes, Trump is an idiot for peddling this line of BS but in all fairness, Carson said that the link between vaccinations and autism has been debunked but he didnt challenge Trumps idiocy on the topic. Rand? Well I might go to him for a yearly eye exam and a new pair of glasses but nothing more.
The most ridiculous moment was when Trump offered "evidence" for vaccines causing autism: he knows somebody with an autistic kid. That kid was once vaccinated. Therefore vaccines cause autism.
Following his "reasoning": The other day, I drank an iced tea in the morning. Later that day, I tripped and twisted my ankle while putting some things away in a storage shed. Therefore, drinking iced tea causes sprained ankles.
I doubt that Trump is really dumb enough to believe in this crap, he's just catering to a certain base of voters who are paranoid about vaccinations.
As for Carson and Paul, I don't take either one of them seriously as Presidential candidates, but as people with medical degrees, they should have pointed out the stupidity of Trump's statement. The fact that they didn't shows that they're also pandering to the loons on this issue.
