For the first time ever, two women have successfully completed the Army's elite Ranger school, one of the toughest combat training courses in the world, the Army said Monday.
The female soldiers weren't identified beyond being described as West Point-trained officers. They were among 96 soldiers who will graduate Friday at Fort Benning, Georgia, with the coveted Ranger tab, the Army said.

Unlike the 94 men who will graduate Friday, the two women won't be allowed to apply to join the join the 75th Ranger Regiment, the elite Special Operations force.
It remains closed to women.

They have obviously lowered the standards, plus, I am sure that training began for the gals a couple weeks before the actual class began just to make sure the ladies had a chance.
In BUDS, they used to start the officers 10-days before the actual training class began. This was to weed out the officer drop-outs prior to the main class which included enlisted trainees, (Tadpoles).
Thanks for putting this information out. Most people are actually believing that the standards were not reduced. I’d only add the fact that apparently the gals could not be peered out.

same here. It’s a joke for special forces and did these women not fail the first time and if so then was the instructors told to be more soft with the women to get them through?
As for the physical, I can do all of that now , the biggest one would be 5 miles in 40 mins , but I can do a 5 k in 25 mins,

Dumbest idea ever, and runs counter to millions of years of community survival - men protect the women and women replace the men who die protecting the women. It isn’t rocket science.
Dumb under the lens of normalcy bias. This is being done by design. It is both a cultural attack on the nation as well as a direct attack on our military readiness.
I was in the military when they tested women with men in an infantry unit.
We were doing Mountain and Arctic warfare in the Arctic and had a woman with us.
She caused drama, unit cohesion was a mess as half the men wanted to flirt and the other half wanted to make her carry her own equipment.
It was that time of the month for her and when you are out in a snowhole in minus 30 air temps and you have to wait outside for her to do her business was ridiculous . We were all freezing and she was taking her time, same as when she had to go to the bathroom and all there is , is mountains and snow, no cover what so ever.
After the first day of patrol she could nto carry her 100 pound pack on ski’s and some men wanted to carry some of it and I had to tell them no we all carry our own.
Needless to say it was a disaster.
This is all about being PC with homosexuals, cross dressers and now women in units where they should not be.
These two women I believe also failed the first time and was given another chance, which no men in the past have been allowed. I suspect the instructors were told to lay off her.
Women on ships are coming back being pregnant and now cannot deploy with their ship which means someone has to take their position. STD’s is the highest it has en for decades
I am sure that these two are qualified and passed. what concerns me is future applicants. right now the process is being watched very closely but what happens in the future when the process is not being watched and someone in congress starts putting pressure for more women special forces.

What is this farce or ranger school today?
One guy who just passed it said a really bizarre comment.
He had a lot of weight and could not carry his weight and so she offered and carried his weight.
ER why is anyone carrying anyones weight? The military I know used to make all of us carry or own weight and not push it on to others.
Trump said in the last NH town hall that he’s for women in combat. He used Ronda Rousey as an example.
Did you see it this morning where one guy said he could nto carry his weight and so she took some of it off him and carried his weight.
Er two points. First he must be full of crap.
Two, if this did happen then he should have failed.
The military I knew made us and made sure we could carry our own weight and not pass it on to others.
This was all a farce and I heard they both failed the first phase but was told to go do it again which is unheard of.
I would bet my life on that these two women were given better treatment and many guys trying to pass also went more out of their way to get these women to pass, more so than another guy.

SEAL’s add more water, so it is up to interpretation which is tougher. Ranger school gets people from all of the branches and Marines that have gone through the course say it is MUCH more difficult than Recon school. That is 2nd hand info...maybe someone here has first hand experience. Rangers and SEALS are spec ops; Marines are not.
