There were many soldiers with Ranger tabs when I was in that never served in a Ranger battalion. The vast majority were officers. The vast majority of enlisted men with Ranger tabs did serve in a Ranger battalion.
I rest my case. As noted elsewhere, that Ranger tab is for some a career enhancer & nothing more.
