The Chinese are not dummies.
A tricked-out Buick (really a rebadged Australian Holden) will be sold for a price competitive with something like, say, a Toyota Avalon or equivalent.
GM’s subsidiary Holden in Australia is not doing so well either, but that in no way detracts from the quality of the cars they design and build.
This is true.
And the Chinese will NEVER get the imports into the US. Chery has been trying for years. What with the safety issues, and the unions blocking them - they ain’t got a chance.
I would beg to differ given their “dressed up” Buicks are still cut-down compared to US equivalents. They sell them with less engine, spartan interiors (save for upper end models), and lesser parts elsewhere in the car.
