I know a guy who has lived in some very large cities. L.A., New York, Philly. A couple overseas. Says the only time he ever got mugged was about a block from campus while a student at RIT.
great school...lots of $ - and the teaching hospital next door is great - they just built a ton of student housing above a new street of shoppes...directly north about a 1/2 mile is the “city”..it does get sketchy - but overall not a bad area if you have your wits about you - I frequent a local ghettoesque wing place...have never had a problem...Im thinkin the doe eyed school kid was an easy mark. In between the school and the city lies Mt Hope Cemetery...Susan B Anthony is buried there along with the suspected Jack the Ripper and Buffalo Bills child...neat place
fyi my then student daughter spent a year in Philly right down the ave from City Hall - never had a problem either
