Why I’m endorsing Ted Cruz for president
Washington Times ^ | August 19, 2015 | Steve Deace

For the past several election cycles, conservatives have lamented their lack of inspiring options. This time is different, though. Now there may be too many good options to choose from.

That’s all the more reason for me to follow through on what I’ve been telling my audience ever since Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The GOP establishment settles on its corporatist shill early while conservatives peel off in numerous directions, mainly because there’s not a viable full-spectrum conservative running. And so we splinter among the candidates whose priorities match our own.

This of course splits our vote, allowing the aforementioned, hand-picked corporatist shill to capture the Republican Party nomination. Cue the Pyrrhic victory. Said shill then fails to stand for anything other than “I’m a Republican” and loses the general election to a Marxist Democrat.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Except this time, the country cannot afford for us to blow it again. American Exceptionalism is at its tipping point moment. The 2016 election will likely determine whether we will ever return to the God-given liberty that made this the greatest nation on Earth. For our current path involves abandoning our constitutional republic altogether and becoming the next bankrupt (morally and fiscally) secular/socialist state.

Ted Cruz REMAINS the only true Conservative in this race and he is the guy I plan to vote for in the primary.

If Trump wins the nomination, I will reluctantly vote for him in the general. I see all other candidates as a complete waste of time.

Sorry, Mr. Deace. Nice thought, but too many low information, hysterical conservatives want to hold their breath until their faces turns blue, just to show everybody how really really angry they are.

And don’t forget, EVERYBODY who opposes Trump is a GOPe shill, a phony, and a RINO. The people who oppose Trump need to have it explained to them how really really angry the Trump supporters are, and how much their feelings have been hurt.

Mr. Deace, please ignore the fact that people who four years ago condemned Trump as a leftist Democrat plant now condemn people who say Trump might possibly be a leftist Democrat plant.

Mr. Deace, even though Trump is obliterating the chances of the unprecedented candidacy of brilliant conservative candidates, paving the way for Jeb!, you have to understand, Trump could not do this without the teeny-bopper-like emotional support of those who are ANGRY... they are ANGRY.

Don’t you get it? They are ANGRY! Let them explain it to you yet another time. They are really sure you need to have it explained to you.

So, sorry. Cruz and the others are being plowed under by a very possible leftist Democrat Clinton friend. And Trump’s supporters do not have and cannot have a reason for thinking he is not a leftist Democrat friend of the Clintons, here to do exactly what he is doing, which is to pave the way for Jeb!, the loser Hillary most wants to see.

But it is all ok. The supporters of the leftist are ANGRY. They will explain it to you. You are probably unfamiliar with their ANGER, which totally justifies their support of a leftist.

Like Bernie Sanders, Trump is outraged because of the”immigration” issue. Just like Bernie Sanders.

Hey, Trump/Sanders! They are doing the same thing.

But forget Cruz, because the ANGRY people are helping Trump destroy Cruz.

I am one of those ANGRY people, and I am sitting here trying to figure out how I can register and vote in about 20 different counties for CRUZ.
CRUZ OR LOSE.

You are a half-wit.

Cruz is the real deal. Trump is the real RINO.

Any idea how many Iowans listen to the syndicated Steve Deace? Seriously, I have no idea.

I used to tune in fairly often when he had the afternoon drive on WHO radio. Since he left (under what circumstances?), I recall hearing him exactly once, a year or two ago, very late at night. Seems that may have been on WHO, too.
