Furthermore, he’d probably draw 30 million or more viewers while the GOP debate would be lucky to get 3 million.

You have to ask yourself what the heck they are smoking. Trump has the support of their BASE fer God’s sake. Of course, they have always hated their base but the GOP would literally be committing suicide. And accusing Trump of being a Perot to put a Clinton in the White House don’t work. Trump is polling 25% of the GOP. If he draws just 20% of non GOP base voters from disaffected Democrats he is President Trump. Jeb and Hillary would be crushed by a Third Party Trump. No, this time the GOPelite can hold their nose while voting. After Dole, McCain, and Romney our noses have had enough.

A thought came to me this evening. Here in the “PreDawn Zone”. Imagine a country where the education system is populated entirely with persons of one political extreme and furiously intolerant of any perspective other than theirs. Also in this country we have bureaucrats of almost uniformity in their opinions and thought.

Over a period of decades the military which was once predominately of the other political thinking is gradually transformed through careful vetting of senior officers into a similar uniformity. in spite of the uniformity it previously had it was a civilian military with very high moral standards and had stayed out of the “culture war” that had been brewing but now it was in the hands of the same folks as the education system has become an “activist military”.

Imagine, as well that the politicians of this country making the laws had no respect for the very laws they were making. Imagine that while the military was being transformed so was the Judiciary in a similar manner.

On the other side of the political spectrum in our imaginary country we have all the folks who once had jobs in manufacturing or businesses that either made things or provided services to businesses that did. All the welders, machinists, engineers, etc. who no longer have careers in those formerly high paying professions and are now working at cash registers and such at a fraction of their former incomes. Still working in their 60s and 70s because their children have not been able to find jobs and live at home. Or their children just came home long enough to drop off a couple of grand kids.

The business owners have shuttered their businesses as they have been smothered in regulations written by bureaucrats that turned once profitable businesses into charities. When they realized they could simply pull the cash reserves from the business and live a comfortable but reduced lifestyle it seemed the smarter of the options.

Imagine that slowly the workers, the business owners, and their families and friends begin to realize they are being collectively punished by the educators, bureaucrats, politicians, Judiciary, and their friends. The other side has allowed central banks to print money because the government just could not make ends meet on the backs of the productive any longer. So what dwindling resources they do have are being siphoned off perhaps not out of necessity but as punishment for having a different set of beliefs. A different moral code.

Imagine that they realize that they have allowed all this to happen over the corse of decades not out of ignorance or disinterest but a sense of “civility” and they have known all along that they outnumbered the educators, judges, bureaucrats, and politicians. Imagine their previous attempts to get the attention of someone, anyone in the political process, in the judiciary, in their churches to coordinate some counter balance to what has been taking place had been thwarted by a dishonest media in conjunction with the politicians and their allies.

How can anyone contemplating such a country fail to see what happens next?

As bad as Trump haters may hate him, like the old “Black Avenger” used to say about lawyers. You can hate him but you have to admit he is better than the alternative.

And that's no exaggeration. I'd love to see it!

"Furthermore, he’d probably draw 30 million or more viewers while the GOP debate would be lucky to get 3 million."

Exactly. I can just imagine how the networks would respond. They know that having Trump included is the only way they would get the ratings FOX got.

They may even offer him free time to respond just for the ratings.
