This is a Youtube video where Jeb Bush initially states to reporters: I don't regret using the term 'anchor baby' and then when he sees the reporters zero in on that his political hack instincts kick in and he gets that fear look on his face and asks the reporters what is an accceptable term to used.
Look at the video 9 seconds in and see the reporter in the blue checkered shirt on the right snicker at the pathetic scrambling Bush is doing. The reporter Bush initially turns to an asks for a PC term for "Anchor Baby" is kind of shocked that he is asked that and he shrugs basiclaly saying that is not his job.
So Bush started out trying to "stand his ground" and not back down from using the term "anchor babies" to within seconds surrendering and asking for the politically correct term to use and says "I will use it".
Look it is simple. Illegal aliens (which I hear is also now an 'offensive term') come to the USA and have a baby. This baby is now automatically an American citizen and "anchors" the illegal parents to the USA (prevents them from being easily deported) like anchoring a boat in harbor. It is not offensive. It accurately describes what the baby's citizenship at birth status does for it's illegal alien parents.

Some of these pregnant moms pay thousands of dollars for the deluxe package... they’re hedging their bets if something goes wrong in China or South American. The wealthy are using this scam against our country too.
And while we’re at it, let’s stop using ‘hyphen-American’ to describe race and ethnicity. What the hell is wrong with ‘black’, ‘white’, ‘oriental’, or any other term that formerly had no ‘offensive’ connotation?

I think the title is misleading and unfair. I saw the clip and the silly reporter kept inferring that ‘anchor babies’ was not proper and was insulting.
When Jeb asked the reported what other term should he use, the reported or someone in the crowd answered with a 5 or 6 word name to replace the one-word anchor baby.
The entire discussion was stupid on the part of the reporter. I am not a Jeb fan at all, but this is silly to use it against him.
Bush is my last choice for Pubbie candidate, but he wasn’t groveling. He responded basically the same way Trump did. I’m watching the clip now on FOX, and Bush’s words are mostly sarcastic, as in “do you people have a better term? You don’t do you?”
