Despite all his flaw, Newton Gingrich was a better Speaker than OH’s awful choice.

“In regards to Trump and my concerns, that sentence should read “...is this the person who will be effective...””

Cruz and Trump would probably be the most effective at addressing immigration problems, ending abuses like “anchor babies,” and enabling safeguards to be put in place while restoring enforcement of existing laws. A few of the candidates can be very effective on their core issues, and Trump would wield the power of the Presidency to, at a minimum, turn back Executive Orders and fix through regulation that which is within the power of the Executive branch.

Whether he would be the most effective on the litany of issues that are important to different people is a big question. Cruz is a constitutional scholar and originalist advocate without parallel, he will outdebate anyone currently in the running (D’s are so far outclassed they aren’t worth mentioning). Trump is very effective at communicating in terms people understand, but he clearly has a lot of baggage. Will that baggage stop him from acting on what he promises? I don’t think so. Problem is we making sure he clarifies his positions and promises. Immigration - check. Lot more issues to go.

Trump is able to brag about how rich he is and how much money he has without sounding like an arrogant jerk and more like someone that people admire.

Tough to pull off, but he manages to do it.

If anyone has ever read “The Art of the Deal”, and I have only skimmed thru it, they will know that there are 11 rules or elements for success in the book and Trump is following many of them in his campaign.

The Art of the Deal was first published in 1988 and has climbed into the top #25 on amazon.com despite being out of print and on back order.

It will probably hit #1 within a week or two.

The 11 Rules or Key Elements are:

1.THINK BIG
2.PROTECT THE DOWNSIDE AND THE UPSIDE WILL TAKE
CARE OF ITSELF
3.MAXIMIZE YOUR OPTIONS
4.KNOW YOUR MARKET
5.USE YOUR LEVERAGE
6.ENHANCE YOUR LOCATION
7.GET THE WORD OUT
8.FIGHT BACK
9.DELIVER THE GOODS
10.CONTAIN THE COSTS
11.HAVE FUN

Thanks for the sanity. I agree with your sentiments. I was recently thinking about an old thread here on his wanting to evict that woman - it was not pro-Trump.
I too think that he serves a useful purpose now, but would be a huge embarrassment should he actually win the presidency (which I don’t see happening). But if it did, I guarantee a week wouldn’t go by without him doing or saying something cringeworthy.
Every time he tries to compare himself to Reagan, I think, ‘Reagan had more class in his little finger’, - there’s NO comparison.
I think the MSM is enjoying the show right now, but they’ll start airing his dirty laundry when they think the time is right. I just hope there’s someone still around that I’d want to vote for (not Jeb) after his numbers drop and the dust settles.
