My nephew lives there now with his Korean wife. He says Americans don’t walk on water any more but, except for certain fools, are highly respected. Nephew probably won’t come back here except for family visits. His attitude toward the norks current threats and bluster is, “Bring it on, it’s time we take care of old business.”

Both the ROK and China are looking warily at reunification. The SK’s know the cost will be an order of magnitude worse than the FRG/DDR merger...DPRK will essentially need a “do-over” on everything from infrastructure to culture, and it will cost billions of Won.

China doesn’t want the refugee flood, nor the possibility of the ROK/US settling in along the Yalu again. Interesting times.

Regards,
